Cured resin cartridge from Clade9 (NJ, 4/1/2025 batch). Best cart I've had from NJ's recreational program by far, even compared to any of the live rosin carts/disposables I've tried (Haze/Mudd Brothers, Lily, MPX, & Cheetah). I've been trying to find a good sativa at NJ dispos for ages now, and this is the first one that's actually noteworthy. First time trying cured resin, and I'll say live resin & rosin taste better but uniquely complex, whereas this is exactly like smoked Jack flower - still good if you like that flavor, but not the best if you care about terps. Personally, I'd smoke a strain that tastes horrible if it's potent or has the effects I'm looking for, and the J1 cured resin is simply the only sativa concentrate currently available in NJ worth making a fuss about.
(The rest of this review is J1-fueled rambling which I spent too much time writing not to leave in)
The other best options in NJ are:
- Lily Farms rosin
Sour Diesel & Trainwreck: amazing flavor and full-spectrum effects; not incredibly potent but feels "clean"; very expensive at $72/0.5g but worth it for consistent effects and overall quality experience
- Haze rosin
Permanent Gas: nice Sour D headiness but pretty strong indica vibe from Permanent Marker which makes for a great hybrid but more sedating than I'd like from a sativa
Tahoe Cream: I love OG Kush genetics because even an indica-dominant phenotype like this one has everything I could ask for from a strain without putting me to sleep. I usually stay away from indica-dominants unless I'm trying to numb myself, but Tahoe Cream gave me a blissful and creative sativa head high with deep relaxation that makes it a perfect indica/hybrid for low-key yet mentally stimulating activities like gaming, reading, or playing music.
- Anything related to Jealousy
I've had Temptation F2 and F3 in both resin and rosin (Haze/Mudd Brothers), KY Jealous (MPX), and Shady Lady (Kind Tree). Despite being indica-dominant, something about Jealousy feels energizing in a paradoxical way that I really enjoy. It's almost like the opposite of J1's focused, psychedelic head buzz on top of a calming, somewhat sedating undercurrent - an inverse of J1's head buzz where it releases tension in the head without weighing down the body, pulling the focus from your mind without numbing it. As a sativa lover, Jealousy and its relatives somehow manage to combine indica-esque mental relaxation with the creative and engaged mindset of a sativa in a way that fills a void I never knew I had until trying them. I have ADHD and Temptation F3 rosin gave me a bizarre yet unforgettable sensation of feeling similar to the way I normally do, yet completely free from any negativie thoughts and emotions. Jealousy has become my ultimate reset button - if I don't like how a certain strain is making me feel, adding Jealousy pulls me back to a more grounded perspective with a profound sense of peace.
