“This place is super easy to get to from the bus line, it's right off the bus #14. I came all the way from Forest Grove, almost 40 miles for some of the deals I saw that they had. Most of the dispensaries in my area are either too high priced, or when they do have bargains, I've already tried/smoked all the kinds they have that I can afford and if I keep up buying the same old stuff, build up a tolerance quite fast. I have depression, fibromyalgia, degenerative-disc arthritis and don't do well with stress. Many of their strains fit the bill for what I needed and were in my price range. Tom was my bud tender on Monday. He was so nice and friendly from the get-go, I really liked him. I was bummed they were out of Blue Widow, but he hooked me up with some Purple Dog Shit that works, but was a little higher priced. I was bummed out they were totally out of the Hood Oil, though. He seemed to be quite knowledgeable about their strains and how they worked. I was impressed by that. You have no idea how many times I've gone to places and have known much more about strains than the person behind the counter. This is all on the plus side.
On the not-so-plus side, I don't like their packaging. Zip-lock, white plastic bags. Those are not recycleable. I'd much rather get my buds in a snap plastic container or a glass screw on lid container. This brings me to the buds, themselves. When I got home, I put my smoke in some plastic containers I had here. And now, I don't know if it was the Purple Dog Shit or the Purple Trainwreck I bought that was super stemmy and was trimmed quite poorly. So much leaf still sticking to the buds. Mind you, it was a $30 a 1/4 strain, but I went to a competitors dispensary down the street before I came to this store. Their $30 1/4's of weed were of much higher quality. And, last, but certainly not least, I realize that when you go to a dispensary for the first time and you are a patient, they have to take your ID and your OMMP card. Tom did this at the window when I came. The thing he did next is what I think really screwed things up for me; he called me right in "before" being done scanning my cards. Hence, I didn't think to ask for my cards back. It was once I had left and was halfway to Portland on the #14 bus that I realized he had kept both of my cards! Now this was a hassle, yes, and would be to anyone, I'm sure. But in my case, it was really messed up for several reasons; I have an elderly dog at home that I needed to get back to and feed him/let him outside to go do his business. So I was worried about him, a lot. It takes a bit of time to travel to SE Portland from Forest Grove on two buses and the light rail. Secondly, my edible I took for the trip was starting to wear off, so I was staring to feel pain. Thirdly, due to that and needing to eat, I was getting the shakes and feeling like shit! This is not what I bargained for when I left home to get a "killer deal on some bud"!
When I went back, a woman, ( I should have asked her name), came out, gave me a FREE pre-rolled joint and was very apologetic. I assume she was the manager/assistant manager or something. She was such a sweetie and I kind of felt bad for her, she had to hear me vent, but hey, this was bullshit! But I did say that I wish she would have had Tom come out and apologize, he did this, she didn't. But whatever. I think in the future, I need to be more mindful of this. This is NOT the first time this has happened to me at a dispensary. And sadly, that time, too, was at a SE dispensary. Tom, in the future, maybe you should wait until you have given the person back their cards. I realize you didn't mean to do this, it was an honest mistake, but seriously, so this doesn't happen in the future to someone else, take that to heart. I still think you are a nice person and good bud tender. I just could have had a much better first time experience.”
