“I have been going to H.C since I moved to Portland several months ago, and they are a friendly group of people! I never feel embarrassed having to ask a question, show them my ID ((The sex marker does not match my gender)) , or recommendations on products. They have a diverse team working on staff. Depending on what time you go, it is never more than a 5-10 minute wait to get in for us. If you have a problem with a product/ cartridge, they will see if its defective and show you what to do.
H.C has good prices and during March madness had $1 pre rolls and 1 penny medical rolls, which was awesome!

The only con is the location is kinda tucked away, you might miss the turn if you're not looking, it's next to an Adam and Eve and a Gambling place, but other than that, everything is super awesome!”

“I have shopped at this place for over 3 years. I bought two cartridges in there 16 days ago. When I went to use the second cartridge, it didn't work. When I would place it on a battery, the battery light would just flash and it wouldn't work. I tried several different batteries all with the same result. On my next trip out there, (I was driving 25 minutes each way for years as a loyal customer), I took the cartridge in with me. It was still in the original packaging with their patient sticker on it. I told the guy the problem and asked if I could just get an exchange. He called for someone to come and take a look at it. That is when I met Marty.... she took the cartridge into the back room and came back a couple minutes later and said "yep it is defective". She asked when I bought it and I told her that I bought it on my last trip in. She looked in the computer and said "you haven't been here for a long time. February 22nd was your last time in" (16 days ago). She continued to tell me that they have a 7 day return policy and I was out of luck. I explained to her that it costed $60 and being disabled and drawing Social Security it was a lot of $$. I told her that I didn't get a receipt or a privacy bag, they just handed it to me over the counter and how would I know about a 7 day return policy? She continued to tell me "sorry!" I asked to speak to the manager and she threw her hand across the counter to shake my hand and said " I am the manager and would be happy to help you with anything I can". She said it in the most condescending tone. I told her I had been a customer for many years and spend a lot of $$ in here. She stated that "it didn't matter". I asked her if she was willing to lose a good customer over this and she said "yep!" I am appalled.... what happened to customer service? I buy a $60 item that is defective and you won't exchange it for me 16 days later? That is just unacceptable to me. It is really sad how they choose to treat a medical patient on a fixed income...😡😪 DO NOT BUY ANYTHING HERE THAT COULD POSSIBLY BE DEFECTIVE OR YOU WILL BE ON YOUR OWN AND OUT THE $$.”

I am truely sorry that you had a less than stellar experience at our Collective. We do understand the sometimes unfortunate nature of Co2 cartridges and that they can and often do fail, which is precisely why we have an established 7 day return policy for all cartridges as well as any other non cannabis items. In such cases, as I was attempting to explain to you at the time of your visit, you can contact the processor, Select Strains directly, and they will quite often have a replacement solution for you. I tried to offer you solutions at the time of your visit and again I apologize that you were not satisfied with your experience, it certainly was not our intention to lose you as a customer, but we do have to adhere to our long established return policy in order to stay compliant. I meant no condescension, wanted only to offer you a resolution, apologies again. We invite you to return for 20% off any NON-Cannabis item of your choice. Same quality, but the price has gone up to 10-12 a gram. And dab?? $60?? For med patients? Sorry there are plenty of places in town still respecting their med patients.”

As a former budtender, I have a lot of respect for the set up, layout, and staff at Human Collective. Very friendly and personable, and for the few places selling rec in the SW Portland area, Human Collective has excellent prices. Got a full gram pre-roll for $5! Location is a little tricky, it's behind a strip mall on Barbur Blvd, so check out the map in detail if trying to visit for the first time. Great job, Human Collective!”
“Small location, Great supply, unfortunately they don't understand the laws and refuse to sell certain products to recreational people that are perfectly legal. The vibe is also a little too casual. I'm all for a relaxed environment, but I don't want someone eating a pizza in front of me while I shop.”
“I'm not one to normally write a review but after having a couple bad experiences, I felt it necessary. One of the most frustrating things is walking into a business and having them not seem to care about you at all. That's exactly how I'm greeted everytime I come in though, not even a word just a blank stare and I have to wait for them to stop their conversations or whatever they are doing to be checked in. I understand it's a pot business and your job might not be too demanding to say the least but it doesn't mean you have to be lazy and inconsiderate towards customers. Every business seems to just want to make a profit and not care about the customer and I've never seen that more apparent than here. The second reason for not going back is the confusion between what prices are displayed online and what are not. If you are recreational, you probably care a great deal about the amount of tax extra you spend on a gram of concentrate since it can get pretty expensive. Online it says that prices shown are before the 25% tax for recreational customers. I saw a couple grams online that looked good and less expensive and ended up deciding on one that was $20. When I am digging for $25 exactly in my wallet, I'm told it will be $30 and that I cant see the actual recreational price online which was $24 and that it was different from medical. With the almost disgusting number of cannabis shops open in all of Portland I'm sure I can find one with more concerned about patients and product.”
