“the first shop I ever walked in to and one that I have frequently returned to.
i like the staff that is upfront, honest, nice and helpful. anytime i want a great deal and a good price without worrying about quality, i come to this place.”
“New Vansterdam has improved a lot since first opening.
I've always liked the atmosphere there, I'll forgive them for being sparse in their first year of business, not sure why that's such a surprise to people. But they've filled out a lot since first opening.
The service is better now. In my most recent visit, I got great advice from one of the employees about finding a strain that worked well for me. Friendly, helpful, suggested a lot of strains. He wasn't bullshitting either, he clearly had actually smoked the product. Again, let's be fair, it's going to take a little time before the employees really get to know their product.
Quality has always been good in my opinion. I have had iffy experiences with Main Street Marijuana early on where I paid double street price and got half the quality (though those folks have improved A LOT too.) At New Vansterdam I've always got great weed. Not super premium every time, but always great stuff. And you can get premium if you pay for it.
Finally and most importantly, price. Everyone's prices are way better than they used to be. In the beginning, I paid around $40 or $50 for 2g of alright bud. Just last week I walked out with 2g of nice Jack Herer for $30. It gets a lot cheaper than that too if you're willing to pick up whatever's on sale. I also bought 2g of Blue Dream for $10. Only about 13% THC, but the high was still great if you smoked a little more. If I do the math, that works out to better value for the same prices folks were paying on the black market.
If you haven't been to a recreational retailer recently, go back and try again. Things have improved and prices have indeed leveled out as expected. Sure you can still pay $25 a gram if you want something specific and premium, but the inexpensive options are there, and the quality is still good. In my opinion, buying legal is now a totally viable option, and New Vansterdam is a great place to do it.”
“do NOT trust their leafly menu. theyll straight up bait & switch you. they advertise strains at lower prices than they are in store, then tell you theyve never carried anything in that pricerange. on top of that, it feels like a fast food atmosphere, minus the fast.
worst of all, you dont even get to see the flower you are purchasing until youve been rung up and ushered toward the door.
will not be returning. ”
“Being new to checking out dispensaries, New Vansterdam was a bit overwhelming at first, but coming in early in the day I was easily able to be helped by the knowledgeable staff who was able to help me make some good selections, without pushing their preferences which I had at some of the other dispensaries. Once I got acquainted with the menu, being able to look things up was a breeze and made talking about the buds much more enjoyable in my opinion”
“I paid $128 for an eighth ounce of "Super Skunk", which was one of their most highly priced buds. It should be closer to $40 but I thought of it as a donation to help keep these new legal weed businesses from failing. Eventually the price should drop to a reasonable level. However, this Super Skunk I bought was not that good. I've been smoking MJ for over 35 years and it's pretty weak. It smells good and looks good and gets your fingers sticky but the high is like midgrade or Mexican brickweed. Since it's the first time I bought from them I can't say their weed sucks but so far it does.”
“Stopped in here a few weeks ago and had not posted my review. I did not get any bud as that day, the selection was very limited and what they had didn't look good enough to make it out of the trim tray.
The person who had helped me was more interested in how cool he was than in helping me. No one seemed too friendly at all.
That comment about this is what to expect in Vancouver is way out of line. The Couve is a greate place to live and for now, we are ahead of Oregon. This fall, that may all change, but you asshats have to concede, we did it first.
“New Vansterdam is a classy establishment. They blend quality bud and fantastic customer service for a truly incredible experience. I suggest their blue dream from Cannaman Farms if you get the chance.”
“Visited not long after they opened. Sparse furnishings and product. Already many strains sold out but I did pick up some expensive legal weed. $44 for 2 grams seemed to be average price of what's left. Looks like they have plans to carry much more in the future so I'll return again.”
“Great, friendly, knowledgable staff. When they do have product, it flies off the shelves due to the quality. I've read here and other reviews of this shop, and keep seeing the words "medicine, and donation". People, this is a recreational shop. They're not allowed by law to discuss medical benefits of cannabis. And it's a sale, not a donation. I suspect that as more growers products become available, prices will come down. This is the end of prohibition, and will take longer than a month to settle. I'll be back as often as possible! Thanks for all you're doing N.V.! ”
