“I understand this is new dc but I think it could be handled better. I did not have a good experience. person at the desk was fairly rude (don't know they're name). Prices are not very compassionate. Also, selection keeps dissipating over the last couple months I've gone.”
My family and I founded Takoma Wellness Center to provide our patients with the highest level of care possible. To read of your negative experience is disheartening. Please except my personal apology, and know that your comments will be taken seriously.
Strains and prices will improve as more cultivators and product come to market. These challenges exist at every DC dispensary, and are beyond our control. Thankfully, they are also very temporary.

“5 Stars All Around -- Best In DC
Top notch customer service and atmosphere.
The inventory is completely decided by the licensed growers in the District, which are heavily regulated. Can't blame these guys when there's a slim menu because it is out of their hands. Write to the DC DOH and tell them as a medical patient, you want more choice and tell them to allow more growhouses.
When new menu items are available, Takoma usually does an excellent job updating their online menus -- unlike other DC dispensaries. ”
“Bad selection. Really bad. The people are nice and I like how the store is set up. However, I've been a few times and the selection keeps getting worse. Last week I was told selection would be better this week. I went yesterday and it is worse than before. I was shown a list of mainly trims that they were obviously trying hard to get rid of. I like the people at Takoma. However, I won't continue to spend my money on extremely high-priced medication if there is no improvement in the quality/quantity/variety of what is offered.
We deeply regret and share your frustrations. Thank goodness, the problem is a temporary one! On July 29, 2014, the mayor signed emergency legislation that raised plant limits at each cultivation center from 95 to 500 plants. While our 'seed-to-shelf' predictions have been overly optimistic, plants are indeed close to market. Their arrival will no doubt have a positive impact on DC's medical marijuana program (which until now, has been fed solely by 3 cultivators, limited to 95 plants each). Change is near! For now, please accept our apologies, and know that our patients well-being is our top priority.
