“This store is fantastic. The customer service is the best I've ever experienced actually anywhere in Portland. Usually dispensaries have friendly, knowledgable staff, but here they go the extra mile. The budtenders who helped me got me to spend about $70 more than I was expecting, and honestly that's not a bad thing.
Furthermore, I purchased a cartridge at this location after discussing them a bit with the budtender Eli, and once I decided on one she grabbed it off the wall and we looked at some bud which I ended up also buying (not in my plan, but thanks to her recommendation I figured might as well). It wasn't even a daily deal (they have 10% off deals for different items each day).
I made my purchase and, once home, greedily opened my new goodies. I'm newer into vaping so I went for that first and was surprised by how easily the package unfolded, but was dismayed to find there was no cartridge inside. I was baffled, and like anyone would, I searched my surroundings. After a while I stopped and thought about it all; I had opened the box over a glass table, there was no clink-clink and I spent over half an hour scouring the floor and entire room (which is scantily furnished) for this cartridge, feeling like a complete idiot. But had it been there in the first place? I don't remember tearing the box open, but one side was indeed torn. But, how could I have gotten this far without noticing? I called the store and told them my situation, the staff I spoke to told a manager my situation, then said to come in and they'll see what they can do.
I brought the packaging and receipt back to the store with my tail between my legs, feeling foolish -- how absent-minded could a person be? -- but they evaluated the situation, discussed it more with me, and we all realized that none of us could remember if there had been a cartridge in the box in the first place. They took my ID to flag me for potentially being a swindler (rightfully so) but still made me a sweet deal (I honestly didn't expect anything) even though there was no real way to verify my story short of someone coming to search my house themselves. But they totally respected my claim and treated me like an honest human being which is rare these days in customer service because (I work in customer service too) it's sooooo hard to believe anyone because sometimes people are liars or just complain about the stupidest crap and it can make a person jaded. I'm not sure I would have reacted so open-mindedly if I had been in their position. Cartridges are pricey. Anyway, the point is, they helped a brother out and they will pretty much now be my go-to place. Amazing selection compared to other local dispensaries (great variety of products the likes of which I've only really seen in Vancouver), and great staff.
Upon returning home with a new cartridge, in the box, I carefully retraced my movements. I immediately realized the other box I had been given must have been opened before I ever received it, because this new box was stiff and difficult to open. I even opened the top and bottom (which required tearing a label which I hadn't done before) and shook it to see if the cartridge would fall out; it didn't, the packaging holds it in there very well (this is Select brand) even with the box wide open. So, my conclusion is that at some point before I ever got it, the original box had been opened and burgled (the side you see in the store as it hangs on the wall is the side that shows the info sticker, not the cartridge). Obviously human memory is flawed, but having opened the packaging a second time, going through the movements, there is no way it could have fallen out without my noticing, even if I am absent-minded sometimes.

Please don't. Anyone who takes advantage of kindness by lying to get shit for free ruins the trust required for helping honest people in bad situations. Also, if you expect not to pay a stupid tax for this sort of oversight, think again ;)
Anyway basically what I'm saying is great store, fantastic product, and amazing customer service. A really cool reminder of what a difference it makes to simply be a little kinder to one another. I'm as happy as a rainbow right now.
