Vela Reviews

  • “A beautiful store with, more importantly, knowledgable and friendly staff. They carry amazing concentrates, including CO2-processed and CBD.”

  • “Dissapointed in this place to be honest, and all down to a bud-tender that barley gave me the time of day. Nice space and cool to see behind the curtain of their process, and good product, but dealing with an oddly reluctant staff member was just weird. Granted it was before noon but questions were not particularly answered and he assumed I knew a lot more about their strains then I did. All in all, I felt like I was wasting his time. Will go elsewhere. ”

  • “What enticed me to drive from my Shoreline stomping grounds to SODO was a 50% off sale on an item I regularly use. Needless to say that I stocked up. The customer service at Vela was outstanding and the complimentary mini-backpack with Vela's name on it made me appreciate the store even more. Also, the grow room that can be seen through the glass windows is a nice touch. I have recommended this store to my friends and will definitely be back.”

  • “Great location, has a grow and oil extraction facility you can see through giant windows. This is where I brought my dad when he visited Seattle the first time and wanted to learn more about legal cannabis.”

  • “Vela made a first time recreational buyer feel welcome. Joseph was incredibly helpful and answered our many, many questions. Will be back next time we are in Seattle. ”

  • “I have never been in a marijuana shop. I do not smoke. I came in for edibles. I knew I wanted Dr. Moxey mints and something to help me sleep. I learned a lot from the person who helped me. I'll be back - it's really pretty and modern. I felt comfortable.”

  • “Vela has the best bud tender staff in Sodo; super knowledgeable and friendly. (Even the doorman is nice, which is a rarity. I never got the intimidating "Hey man, why are you looking at my girl" vibe that some of the other pot shops radiate). The prices are just a smidgen higher than the rest of the shops in the area but as a few other reviews stated, "you get what you pay for". They also house an awesome rewards program, granting 10 percent off your 2nd purchase. There selection is not that massive, but that is actually a great thing for my indecisive, bipolar brain (it takes me 20 minutes to pick out laundry soap, so you could imagine what happens when I have 122 different indicas to choose from). I'll be back #ArnieSchwartz”

  • “The guides are very knowledgeable and mine recommended that I mix Frida with AC-DC for a customizable cbd-thc ratio. I'd be comfortable sending someone that's new to cannabis here.”

  • “this is my favorite shop in sodo. the other shops in the neighborhood are cluttered and at times jam packed with tourists. if you are looking for knowledgable staff, with clean, minimalist interior and frosted privacy windows -this is your spot. there's also a grow room in the back, which is very interesting to see the plant lifecycle every time i visit. the higher quality buds do cost more, but if you're lookin for cheap flower they have those too. but it's cheaper for a reason (smaller buds, stems). the reviewer two reviews below me who was complaining about quality probably got a $7/gram strain. you get what you pay for, in terms of quality and manicured buds. prices on concentrates vary by brand. if you have a variable temp/wattage mod -i would recommend the nectar craft cartridges over the other brands. the other brands are cheaper, but they have shittier atomizers which can burn out. i went safely up to about 8 watts with no issues of burning out the atomizer on the nectar craft. the only downside abort nectar craft cartridges are that they come packaged inside of a glass vial with a cork. i didn't notice till i got home that atomizer glass was cracked -but even with the chipped/cracked atomizer -it still worked fine. it does take a couple of seconds to prime it, so that it goes up to temp -especially with the very first hit. for the first hit, it took a long time to fire up. start low temp and work your way up to 7-10 watts. i have another atomizer thing for concentrates -with my variable voltage/wattage mod -it's basically a rebranded miracle coil (ceramic). i have no issues goin up to 15-20 watts on this one. again the prices for just straight up concentrates vary by brand, but nothing has disappointed me yet. for edibles -i always just say make your own. but i've tried a few. moxleys: you gotta take like 5 or 6 of them to work (out of a tin of x20 mints). i was sceptical about the dissolvable thc/cbd strips -but they actually worked. i only tried one strip -and it was very mild/light buzz -but i think i just have a high tolerance. my friend tried the gummies that they sell -and apparently these are legit. i tried one of the thc drinks once, and it kinda worked, but i had to drink about half the bottle. protip: if you work down the street at the ssc and flash your badge you'll get a discount.”
