Here’s Where to Buy California’s Cannabis Cup Winners of 2018

(David Downs/Leafly)

Champagne lovers have Champagne, France.

Fashion lovers have New York Fashion Weeks.

Cannabis lovers have all of California this summer.

The smoke has cleared on last weekend’s High Times NorCal Cannabis Cup 2018, and the winners have taken their trophies home. Now it’s time for aficionados to hunt down the Cup winners for themselves. There’s nothing better than knowing you have the world’s ultimate stash on-hand, making a home of the summit itself.

To judge the Cup, a panel of expert industry judges reviewed a dozen-plus California products in 19 categories—from Best Hybrid Flower all the way down to Best CBD Concentrate. Winning a famed Cup catapults cannabis growers onto an international stage, setting off statewide runs on product—decreasing supplies and raising prices. The key is to swoop in quick this week and stock up. Here’s how.

Best Indica Flower

1st Place: Creme De La Crème (Team Elite Genetics)

Third place winner Gelato 41 (David Downs/Leafly)

Call it a night after a long summer’s day with top-shelf indica. For that, we’re proud to point you to Buds and Roses in the Studio City neighborhood of Los Angeles. No stranger to winning Cups themselves, Buds and Roses carries flowers from the Best Indica Flower winners Team Elite Genetics.

We’re also seeing Team Elite Genetics flower in the Left Coast Collective in San Diego.

Team Elite took first place with their Creme De La Crème, which judges said had “a nice, sweet, skunky flavor with grape undertones.” Creme De La Crème took two third place trophies in years past, seizing gold finally this June.

Another indica to lock onto: third place winner Gelato 41 by designer cannabis kings Connected Cannabis Co., with outlets in San Francisco and Sacramento.

Gelato owns California, so keep a look out elsewhere for the popular indica, also spotted at CBCB in Berkeley.

Best Sativa Flower

1st Place: Gelonade (Connected Cannabis Co.)

Second place winner Mimosa #A5 (David Downs/Leafly)

Connected Cannabis Co. hogs first place in Best Sativa Flower as well with their “Gelonade,” which my guess is Gelato and Melonade.

Atrium Farms’ second place finish with “Mimosa #A5” should put trending strain Mimosa on everyone’s shopping list. Mimosa mixes Clementine and Purple Punch and was created by The Village. The main source for The Village genetics is South Sacramento Care Center.

You’ll also spot Mimosa at The Bloom Room in San Francisco. We see select Mimosa carts in Santa Ana and Venice, and Mimosa flower in L.A. at Hollywood High Grade and Variety Cannabis, and in West Hollywood.

Best Hybrid Flower

1st place: 40 Elephants (Garrison Lane)

Hats off to SoCal growers Garrison Lane for coming out and just admitting their first place Best Hybrid Flower winner “40 Elephants” is Gelato bag-seed. No shame in that game. There’s bound to be lovely offspring worth cloning. Garrison Lane flowers have been sighted in East LA and Echo Park.

For the second place winner, set your Google Maps to Compassionate Heart in rural Ukiah, Calif. and go buck wild on their stash of The Lemon Tree and all the other good stuff you’ll find there. Lemon Tree genetics have also been spotted at MedMen in Venice, Downtown LA, and West Hollywood.

Best Edible

1st Place: Strawberry Express Edible Tincture (Val’s Organics)

Third place winner Origin by Atlas Edibles (Courtesy of Atlas Edibles)

Save your lungs and just nosh the best in 2018. Gobble up first place winner Strawberry Express Edible Tincture by Val’s Organics, found at Weed Studio City’s store.

Second place finisher Milk Chocolate Nug Bar by NUG can be found far and wide.

The third place winning edible Origin by Atlas Edibles might be most easily scooped up via delivery service Sava.

Best Pre-Roll

1st Place: Loaded (by Loaded)

Once a barn-bin joke, pre-fabricated joints, or pre-rolls, have become elite. The first place “Loaded Preroll” by Loaded, in collaboration with Critical Concentrates, might be found at Los Angeles Kush Collective or New Amsterdam Naturals.

The second place Kimber Cannon can be found at Garrison Lane hotspots in SoCal.

And the third place T.I.*.S. Preroll by IC Collective hangs out on the Bay Area C.R.A.F.T. delivery menu. I also bought one last week at new Berkeley store Hi Fidelity.

Best Vape Pen Cartridges

1st Place: Big Lemons (GoldDrop)

Manufacturers can finally get state licenses to make hash, so it’s an exciting time to follow concentrates in California.

Track down first place Best Vape Pen Cart “Big Lemons” by GoldDrop with The Lemon Tree, starting at Harborside in Oakland. Within an hour of the award announcement, Harborside’s booth sold out of its Big Lemons vape carts. Explore the menu for related collaborations from terpene experts Blue River, 90-time trophy winners GoldDrop, and Santa Cruz legends Lemon Tree.

Hash is so complex now. Look at second place finisher “Mimosa Live Resin Sauce Cartridge” by Moxie with The Village. Phew. Again, South Sacramento Care Center is the plug for The Village genetics. There’s all crazy kinds of goodness on their menu and I would give them all my money as often as I could. Moxie can be found statewide at finer retailers.

You can find the third place Pineapple Express Vape Cart by The Bloom Brand in Los Angeles today at LAXCC. Get it now! Call your buddy on the west side to snatch it upCCC in L.A. also stays stocked up on The Bloom Brand.

We can do this all day. You want to know where to get the best topical, the best concentrates, the best CBD flower, etc?
