Published on February 23, 2018 · Last updated August 31, 2023

Leafly’s New Strains Alert is an ongoing series that announces cannabis strains recently added to our database. Leave a rating and review for any you’ve tried, or find out if a strain is available in your area, by clicking through to the strain page.

Welcome back to another New Strains Alert! This week we’ve added some long overdue cuts like Pinewarp (a.k.a. BC Mountain Pinewarp) and AK-49, alongside up-and-coming phenotypes from Mr. Mack’s Snack and others.

Trap Star from Exotic Genetix combines LA OG Kush and their Starfighter cross, The Cube. I don’t know if it will make you flow like Quavo, but I am almost certain it will arrive blinged out in trichomes.

Chime in and help inform the community with a strain review if you’ve had a chance to enjoy or grow any of these new cuts.

Trap Star is an indica bred by Exotic Genetix, who used parent genetics from inside and outside their strain roster. Created by crossing LA OG Kush and The Cube, Trap Star steps off the stage stinking of pine, cherries, and fuel. Trap Star has a flowering cycle of 56-63 days and produces an abundant yield with proper training.

AK-49

AK-49 by Vision Seeds is an AK-47phenotype that aims for higher potency and more stimulating effects than its predecessor. This strain has been known to push well over 20% THC and can invigorate the most lethargic cannabis consumer. But beware, this strain’s strong stimulation can be too much for some, so mind your dosage and enjoy AK-49 in an environment you feel comfortable in. It has an approximate 84-day flowering time and retains the pungent and woody aroma its forefather became famous for.
