New Strains Alert: Blueberry Cookies, White Choco, Green Magic, and MoreJeremiah WilhelmJanuary 5, 2018
Welcome back to Leafly’s New Strains Alert! This week, we’ve added some sweet strains to the database.
Dark Heart Nursery grew a tart and tangy treat in their strain, Sour Land (a.k.a. Sour Patch Kids). This sugar-coated cross of Sour Diesel and Candyland has a citrus-forward aroma and beautiful coloration, making it a special treat for nearly all the senses.
We’ve also added a series of White Choco cuts from Amsterdam Genetics, including White Choco, which is a cross of White Russian (White Widow x AK-47) and Chocolope (Chocolate Thai x Cannalope Haze). This rich combination of varied genetics gives White Choco sweet and potent attributes that must be shared. Luckily, Amsterdam Genetics crossed White Choco with several other strains, creating Chocolony and Green Magic, just to name a few.
If you’ve had the pleasure of any of these delicious genetic crosses, stop by their strain page and leave a review. The cannabis community is better informed when we share our experiences and knowledge, puff by puff, post by post.
Sour Land (a.k.a. Sour Patch Kids) is a sativa-dominant crossing of Sour Diesel and Candyland. Created by Dark Heart Nursery, Sour Land emits a pungent aroma of diesel and sweet earth. This strain’s effects tend to be happy and uplifting, making it well-suited for consumers suffering from stress and depression. Sour Land grows in a similar fashion to Candyland, expressing tangled golden stigmas and subtle purple hues in its dense, frosty foliage.
Pink Panties is a cross of Burmese Kush and a Florida Kush backcross. It expresses dense, medium-sized buds that reek of tart and tangy citrus alongside a strong floral bouquet. This strain delivers a smooth smoking experience that is citrus-forward, but lightly herbal on the exhale. Consumers can find value in Pink Panties’ potent but functional sedation, which may help abate symptoms of anxiety, depression, and PTSD.
Blueberry Cookies is an indica-dominant hybrid created by crossing Blueberry Tahoe and Thin Mint GSC (f.k.a. Girl Scout Cookies). This strain’s unique flavor is a mixture of roasted nuts, mint, and fresh blueberries, while the bouquet provides an earthier, berry-forward aroma. Blueberry Cookies tends to hit the consumer in the body with mid-level sedative effects that are relaxing without being cumbersome. The mental state is often heady and creative, offering a distraction from stress. Blueberry Cookies is often recommended for consumers contending with chronic pain, inflammation, and depression.
Jorge’s Diamond is an indica-dominant strain created by and named after Jorge Cervantes (a.k.a. George Van Patten). This strain emerged from Dutch Passion’s “Research Gene Pool,” which contains over 25 years worth of esoteric cannabis genetics. Likely deriving from Afghani parentage, Jorge’s Diamond produces plump, resinous buds that naturally fend off pests and mold while releasing an intoxicating aroma of honey and fresh raspberries. With about four weeks of vegetative time and 8-10 weeks to flower, Jorge’s Diamond finishes in just over three months time, often offering a THC percentage upwards of 17%.
White Choco by Amsterdam Genetics is an enticing cross of White Russian and Chocolope. This strain is gaining a dedicated following in The Netherlands for its sweet and spicy chocolate flavor as well as its functional, relaxing euphoria. White Choco’s sweetly spiced flavor gives way to an activating and heady buzz in small doses, but with heavier consumption, White Choco may stimulate appetite and promote sleep. It has an 8-9 week flowering time and can produce large yields in the hands of capable growers.
Chocolony by Amsterdam Genetics is the product of an extensive breeding program between the extremely popular White Choco and The One. This sweet, fragrant hybrid has a 10-week flowering time, and has been known to stretch over six feet tall when grown outdoors. Chocolony combines the spicy, chocolate-rich stylings of White Choco against The One’s Thai/Pure Afghan lineage, giving the strain a complex cannabinoid profile with touches of CBN and CBG. If you make it to Amsterdam, keep an eye out for this resinous wonder.
Green Magic is an indica-dominant cross of Green Manalishi (Pacific G13 x G13/HP) and White Choco (White Russian x Chocolope) created by Amsterdam Genetics. This hybrid leans on the rich chocolatey aroma of White Choco while garnering G13’s legendary potency. While the physical intensity of Green Magic’s buzz can make some hearts race, the strain’s long-lasting and potent effects may make it a good choice for consumers suffering from chronic pain and sleeplessness.
