New Heights Laboratory

Mycotoxin Screening

Testing for toxin fungal byproducts that could cause illness in patients.

Product Details

Our laboratory tests for aflatoxins and ochratoxin commonly produced by fungi, namely Aspergillus. These fungi are known to grow on certain food and plants, being predominately influenced by warm, wet environmental conditions. Screening for mycotoxins in medical marijuana is critical because the toxic by-products from these species of fungi can be dangerous and carcinogenic if consumed or inhaled. We screen for mycotoxins by use of highly powerful analysis through our UPLC system with the fluorescence detector. This highly sensitive detection system allows us to efficiently separate complete mixtures of compounds and accurately quantify toxic compounds.
