Nova Farms

9/15/2020
I write this feedback on behalf of myself and fellow family member, as both of us are of the same mind when concerning these opinions.. QUALITY: This word is synonymous with Nova Farms. Combined with the sheer volume of choices one has, I'm often resolved to scratching my head and thanking God the situation is such that it is. Also, each brand (Rev, Heirloom, Siri, etc.) carries exceptional examples. One cannot go wrong here. It's almost unreal. Choosing from between well over a dozen top-end cultivars and phenotypes is an extraordinary experience! On this score, Nova wins over all, hands down. I've been a(n on-again-off-again) smoker for several decades, and have always enjoyed quality growth -- even done a fine share of it on my own. However, Nova consistently offers an extensive selection of flowers, which typically range within the very high to the ultra-high quality levels. When it comes to the flowers they carry, I'm routinely astounded by their maturation, their wholesomeness, their lack of chemical residues, their features and characterstics, and the freshness factors as always offered. Not only this, but there are industry standards in place and adhered to, as well as further disclosures as to certain cannabinoid contents, packaging and dating -- all listed there upon the labeling. Well done, and I'd give a 6th star for quality if I could only do so -- These flowers are not only extremely well cured, they're also cut and manicured to perfection! Those who have been born into this now wondrous age, please, DO NOT take such things for granted. You don't even want to know what it was like to get a bag of weed, let alone good quality stuff, throughout the 70's, 80's and early 90's. You don't know how good you have it, as these products are the stuff of legends, formerly hitherto unknown among the mere common folk and reserved only for the marijuana elite, like the publishers of High Times magazine. On a similar note, I'd also suggest, please be respectful and decent when you arrive and shop, wherever you may purchase from. People have fought, struggled, legislated and ruled so as to arrive at the current state of affairs; to advance the cause, and to finally make a needed situation happen. Therefore, please, let's all act with care and respect to the entire enterprise and to those who worked so hard at such great achievements. SERVICE and ATMOSPHERE: I agree with some previous commentary that the demeanor of some workers here has been a touch severe. I would say the occasional militant dispositions I've experienced on behalf of some of the work force (e.g., the big kid with the young face sitting in the booth and who presents with the robotically aloof demeanor) is a bit much to take. However, I have actually tried to be friendlier towards him and he does warm up with a little positivity and conversation, so maybe it was just me those first half-dozen times. On the flip side, I am also glad to see a tightly run ship, even at the cost of what may be a slight dip in customer service. That said, the public needs to know the stakes are high, and there's no need, nor tolerance, for any nonsense at Nova, nor at any other shop/dispensary. It's vital to set that tone, and I also believe the public needs to appreciate that balance, as well as the complexity of pulling off politeness with seriousness. Inside, especially during peak hours, there is the repetitive corralling on behalf of those employees seeing to it that you are ever standing/moving where deemed appropriate. This is a bit tedious but still fine, and one of the workers even joked she didn't mean to be rude, but was merely trying to justify her existence there at work, which was both humble and endearing, adding to her professionalism in an odd way. The music is subjective, as I've heard stuff I could dig, as well as some other stuff I might not chose to play or hear. I did once complain the music was far too loud, which it typically is, but another employee, observing the repeated struggle to convey statements back and forth between myself and the sales clerk, actually agreed with my concern and subsequently had the volume adjusted. He was a younger, slightly darker skinned gent with upper management written all over him ;) and I thanked his discretion in the matter. Presently, with the face mask thing, and the plastic partitions, communicating here sucks when the music is loud. Please Nova, keep it down and keep it mellow. Also, I sometimes feel too rushed to shop around any further. Once, while looking at the glass display case along the entry/exit wall, I felt rushed to leave by the security mistress at the point of egress. Too bad, as I saw a bowl which caught my eye and may have sprung for it had I been given more of a chance to peruse the wares. However, she made some comment and gestured in a fashion that compelled me to want to move on. Still, all-in-all, very good in terms of service and atmosphere. One other minor annoyance, for example, comes when I chose to purchase a product from Rev Clinics. Accordingly, I anticipate getting one of their better quality containers. Not the circular one with the Nova Farms labels upon them. Rather, I expect to get the squared off tubes familiar to me from previous purchases of the Rev Clinic brand. Also, Rev Clinics typically included terpene shields within their canisters. Lately, Nova has been selling Rev Clinic brand flowers, but within their own (Nova) containers and w/o the shields. When asked why, I was told Nova had recently bought in bulk and was using their own containers. However, the clerk didn't even know what a terpene shield was. Hmm... I guess I understand this, but an unfortunate situation, leading to some degree of customer displeasure. I buy terpene shields elsewhere, but feel, at the premium cost, and while dealign in premium product, the shields should be automatically included. Finally, I don't buy prerolled, and can therefore only speak for my experiences with flowers, concentrates and edibles (all exceptional, bar none!) I tend to roll my own (perhaps a dying art), but primarily smoke from clean glass, preferring to use only a very small amount at once, albeit at multiple intervals. So enjoyable is it to have access to world class flowers and, hence, concentrates, that my usual methodology is to smoke say 2 or 3 hits worth, clear my bowl, contemplate the tastes and aromas, and also the fantastic highs, then rinse and repeat at some indeterminate point, later in time.... In this regard, one is encouraged to savor the terpenes and overall flavor profiles of these fine, fine flowers, and I would strongly recommend this approach to anyone from time to time. I would also humbly submit, I'm not sure as to why some would incorporate such stupendous herb within a blunt, as that pseudo cardboard wrapper does nothing but kill the natural essence of such exquisite flower, at least to my opinion, but to each their own. Finally, Leafly, and sites like theirs, can be a tremendous resource. One must make it a point to look up some of these strains and then learn, compare and contrast their inherent characteristics. Simply fantastic! Hopefully, some of the nomenclature used on these plants will become a little less foolish sounding, I mean, I won't get too into it, but there are varieties that I could not possible bring myself to purchase, based simply off the names alone (Cheesy D--k, anyone?) Even still, despite my petty complaints here, I would just like to express my gratitude towards Nova Farms. They've done a fantastic job overall. And very lastly, I've never had any problem with weights being accurate. As soon as I return home, I break out my digital scale. So far, at every turn, and have been satisfied by the consistently accurate weights, time and time again. Bravo, Nova Farms! Bravo!
