Purple Hindu Kush Tincture

7/15/2017
When my old friend G recently visited me in Oregon, I took him to his first dispensary. He told our friendly budtender that he wanted something that made him feel happy and relaxed, not too in his head, and definitely NOT paranoid. The budtender swiftly pulled a product off the shelf. He said it was new to the store and "really great," Purple Hindu Kush tincture from Cascadia Herbals. That evening, sitting back in bed watching TV, G and I each had a small-ish dose (under 10 drops each--not the recommended 15-20 drops on the bottle. The first effect we noticed was RELAXATION. I saw G melt more deeply into the bed and his body enlarge ever so slightly as his muscles gave way and tension disappeared. I remarked that he looked like a movie star--his face now relaxed into what resembled a fresh Botox treatment or that post-massage, feel-good glow. Within an hour of imbibing the tincture, complete mindless happiness took us over, as our analytical minds fell off the edge of the earth into a useless heap of nonsense. TV shows, the simplest plot lines, became incredibly difficult to follow. In G's own words, "We couldn't even understand what was going on on The Golden Girls...it's the classic, dumb-a**, feel-good pot." (I'd like to add that not able to follow the plot of The Golden Girls can be fun and mesmerizing, as you focus on the Golden Girls-specific 1980s clothing and the excessive use of shoulder pads.) A few drops of the tincture later... we flipped to an infomercial for Slim Panties and completely lost it, laughing until it hurt. Conversations--no deep thoughts for us, but in the moment, interesting observations, but our overly-analytical "monkey-minds" slowwwwwed down in a most-welcome way. Happy happy happy happy happy. (Note: this tincture is also recommended for physical pain. We didn't use it for that purpose, but you might want to.) Love this tincture. It will become a staple in my medicine cabinet. HIGHly recommended.

GG4

3/8/2017
Notable Gg4 side effects: sensitivity to music, remembering to remember to breathe, noting poignancy of the world we live in while still having the ability to focus on the project at hand, (which for me was reading and writing.) Now, physical tasks, that's another story. While Gg4 didn't put me in da proverbial couch, I was most definitely "in da chair." But don't worry about the sitting or reclining. You will get up, eventually. No paranoia, which is fantastic. Munchies? No, not really. And "this" as they say these days -- EUPHORIA. Euphoria is a very, very desirable quality in a strain, yes? Random thoughts while imbibing in Gg4: "I long for my soulmate. But I'm still happy to be alive. It is fun to have a cat in your house. Do cat's act? I mean, most cats haven't attended acting school or anything, but sometimes when they play it's like acting. It's theatrical, if not acting. Am I high? Yes." .................So, in the end, thinking is overrated. BEING is better. Gorilla Glue #4 -- try it! Without a doubt. Lovely, possibly even enlightening.

Black Cherry Cheesecake

2/16/2017
Feeling down? For whatever reason? Ice storm, rainy day, love life troubles... if you are down because of that thing, and you're like me, Black Cherry Cheesecake will lift you. That said, it'll take it's sweet cheese-cakey time doing so. Bcc is a creeper that keeps creeping, kind of like one of those junky old carnival rides that takes you through a haunted house that's more funny than scary. ?? Yep, that kind of ride. But everyone is differentWhile I found this strain lifting, I also thought it had the old school"pot quality of "duh," and, looking visibly high, even to myself in the mirror--droopy eyelids, dopey smile and so on.... —>That said, again, the uplifting effects of Bcc are noteworthy here. I work as a psychic. This strain assisted me with my work. I felt a distinct shift and LIFT in consciousness. Stretching also seemed like a good idea, an effect that is always, always appreciated in a strain. "Hey, I'm back in both my physical (and energetic) body. Yay!" Openminded, relaxed, and less attached in a lovely, Buddhist kind of way. BUT, there is the duh-factor, so I wouldn't recommend you operate heavy machinery or even try to make mac-and-cheese on the stove, while enjoying this wonderfully uplifting strain.

ACDC

12/12/2016
Why is this strain called ACDC? I have no idea. Name selections aside, I picked up .5g of ACDC from a dispensary here in Eugene (grown by High Mountain Organics) just to try it, and I'll be back for more. The friendly budtender who sold me on ACDC said it was good for when she "just wants to let go...ahh." This sounded good to me—and she was right. ACDC, with its high CBD content and almost no THC, brings on muscle relaxation for sure. But this is important—> *please don't assume that a strain with no psychoactive effects means you won't get high* —>letting go of tension feels really, really good—as does being more in the moment and not worrying. Get rid of all of the body/mind stress baloney, and you lift, you really do. It also helped me prepare for an hour-long psychic reading (I'm a certified psychic channel as well as meta-physician of feelgoodedness.) After a puff or two of ACDC, I landed more in the moment and connected to Earth, while relaxed enough to trust and let my intuition flow. Also worth mentioning: ACDC reportedly helps with MS, epilepsy, pain, and the side effects of chemotherapy. Wow!! And it's not snake oil either! Just a plant, a very kind plant. (Note: if you have some dishes to wash or something, and you want to jazz things up, you could mix this strain with, say, a high THC sativa such as Jack Herer or a high THC hybrid energizer such as Pineapple.) ........ I shared my ACDC with a friend who usually avoids marijuana—he says most pot makes him paranoid, anxious, and muddles his mind at work the next day. Not the case with ACDC he said. He was impressed. For me, ACDC didn't bring on any paranoia (essential), was not particularly munchie-producing (semi-essential), and I felt relaxed while not falling immediately into a long winter's nap (important, because I wanted to write this review). Overall, a splendid strain that I'll keep in my medicine cabinet. I'll call it "Let Go" though, instead of ACDC. Just sayin.' ........................................................................................................................... ***My older sister introduced me to pot when I was in the 6th grade in the 70s. I didn't get high—apparently I didn't inhale. After that I didn't smoke much pot until recreational marijuana was miraculously legalized in Oregon in 2015. Now I write reviews on Leafly.***

Candyland

12/10/2016
This past summer my nice brother-in-law grew a Candyland plant for me because there wasn't enough sunlight at my place. This week in early December, I received a Mason jar full of yellow-haired, funky skunk-smelling Candyland flower. First off, I wanted to know if Candyland would enhance my psychic abilities, so I lit up that homegrown in my little glass bubbler. The answer is YES it did help my psychic abilities, but not in any expected way. It helped ground and center me, while relaxing me, thus allowing the messages to come in. After 2 or 3 puffs, I felt floaty. In a singular subtle way, Candyland lifted me from common everyday human heaviness to, well, a higher place, a higher vibration. The perfect place for psychic work, healing work, rising above worry or pain, meditating, writing, relaxing, and, well, being a happy person. Too woo woo for you?? I didn't think so. Leafly isn't for squares!! .............................Besides feeling lifted up, buzzed yet still focused, relaxed and productive, I have very very very dry eyes! And I'm thirsty. All of the sudden I'm like in the Sahara desert over here!! This is the only downside I have found with Candyland. I feel mellow without wanting to nap, but, the mellow is more like I feel PLEASANT. Like, "he was a pleasant fellow who never said a bad thing about anyone" or "it was breezy, mid-70s, a pleasant day for a stroll. Yeah. That kind of pleasant—>the pleasant is your vibe. What you're putting out into the world. Even if you're like me, sitting alone on a Friday night, typing a review, staring at a computer with your very dry eyes (worth it—just use eye drops) you will know, just know, that you 're putting good vibes out there to all. .........................My Synopsis: Candyland gets an "A" for keeping me in the moment whilst letting me float in a happy place. Revelation: I had assumed Candyland was a girl, but he's really a mellow fellow.

Moss Crossing

12/1/2016
MOSS CROSSING: Super helpful and patient customer service (answered a million questions without any attitude whatsoever), and a friendly, welcoming, relaxed vibe. Nice streamlined selection of strains, pipes, hats/t-shirts, oh, and free stickers! Aesthetically speaking, MC has a pleasing, earthy, minimalistic environment. Down to the nitty gritty now. MC was the 3rd Eugene dispensary I visited, and I must say, I preferred this dispensary over the others. Why? The feel of a place is important to me, and I felt comfortable and welcomed at MC, and not judged, you know, for whatever reason people come up with for judging others. If you're like me, an intuitive person, you can sense such things. I took one of my friends to Moss Crossing who has severe pain to deal with on a daily basis. One of the owners said to her, "You're the reason we opened this store." How nice is that?? This whole buying pot in a store thing is new to most of us, right? You want to feel comfortable in a dispensary, right? I recommend you try Moss Crossing.
