This is truly a five star strain. Smell, taste, and especially the high are from another plane of existence. Its heirloom parents, Chemdawg Special Reserve and Northern Lights impart a tart, fuel soaked taste that lingers on your tongue long after your last toke. The effects take the dreamy euphoria of Northern lights and add the clear headed energy from the Chemdawg to make a totally functional and pleasurable daytime smoke. Swami's Black Lime Special Reserve is dispels anxiety and gives enough of a mood enhancement to be ideal medicine for depression.

This is a highly overrated strain in flower form. I'll start with the caveat that no two grows are alike, but I purchased mine from Caliva, and it's THC tested at 23%, which is very high for this strain. Let's start with its strong points: the smell is amazing. It has a very complex berry smell that makes me want to duct tape my face to the jar. If you buy cannabis for smell alone, run to the store and buy an ounce. The taste from vaporized flower is so-so. I was not as impressed as I was with the smell. There is some sweetness, but not much. Certainly not much to brag about. The effects were the weakest point. I felt sedated, but in no way euphoric. Mellow, but not happy might work for some, but when sampling a two time Cannabis Cup winner, I expect to be steam rolled. That's not to say that this flower isn't without medicinal value. If you like a nice, mellow, functional high without couch-lock this might be for you. My tolerance isn't very high, so if you're looking for fireworks, try something less expensive. I can understand the hype for the concentrated form of Zkittlez as I squished my buds for rosin when they failed to perform as flowers. Now that was something special. The taste was really pronounced and the sedate high became blissfully calming. Don't plan on leaving the house if you buy extracted Zkittlez. This is just speculation, but it seems like 3rd Generation Family, Terp Hogs or whoever developed this wanted it to be as big as Girl Scout Cookies. It's very hard to find in flower form and you can pay as much as $100 a gram for ice hash. It's all very hush, hush, and I hear that there are a lot of fake Zkittlez floating around. Sound familiar?

The Tangie that I tried is a Sativa like no other. It's cerebral and energizing, but strangely relaxing at the same time. I'd say that this is good strain for people who get anxious from other Sativa strains. It must be the haze influence because I've also found Strawberry Cough to be tweak free. So the smell is well and truly citrus and in particular, orange. I'm getting cynical about how people describe smell and flavor, but this smells like a jar full of oranges. As for the taste; I've been more impressed by other strains. I used a vaporizer and didn't get the same citrus notes that I smelled. This is good bud. In skilled hands (mine was from Canna Cruz) this can get up to 22%, but it's usually has lower THC. The terpines probably give it a little more kick too.

Tonight's adventure with a concentrate of Hardcore OG has me completely and amazingly impaired. I saw the flower on sale for insulting prices here in SF, so I got curious about what made it so special. I love Indica too, so I decided to scratch the itch. After doing some research, I found a cult that worshiped tonight's concentrate which is supposed to be able to cripple a rhino: rhino down. I feel like a happy little kid that got hit in the head by a line drive. Now what was I just doing? Oh yeah, experiencing the most intense body buzz that I have EVER felt. Everything is tingling, even my disco stick. Do your self a favor and try this. In terms of medicinal effect; I'd use this for stress and a burst of creativity. I'm gonna go listen to some music.

I finally dropped by Mission Organics on a strain hunt for Game Changer. I was pleasantly surprised by the affable and helpful staff, who helped me find quality medicine from their large selection. My bud tender made me feel welcome and unrushed, which is essential for me. It's the variety of flowers and cost that makes Mission Organics a competitive dispensary in a city already full of them. Like most, they have sun grown mmj at lower cost, which is great for folks on a budget, but hey also have a very nice high-end selection for connoisseurs. I'm definitely going to go back soon because I really liked the people that I met, but also because I'm sure that when something new comes to town, they'll probably have it.

Strawberry cough is a beautiful strain. As the name implies it's redolent of berries. Use a vaporizer to take advantage of the taste, and avoid the second part of its name. What gets me about this strain is its high. It's Sativa dominant, but doesn't hit you with the typical Sativa mental voltage that can cause anxiety for new patients. The mental effects are euphoric, energetic, and above all, smooth. This is a new favorite for sure.

The budtenders at the Love Shack are very helpful and knowledgeable. The co-op has a good selection and decent prices. It's a real hole in the wall, but it's not shabby or unclean. I'd head back after my experience.

I came for a deal on Sunset Sherbet that could not be missed. My bud tender was very cool, but the staff behind the safety glass were plain rude. Some girl with glasses weighed my goods, took my money, and tossed my bag at me without saying a word. The cooperative itself is kinda dingy and has a slapped together feel. Not likely to give other operations any competition. I will say that the flowers were good. I won't go back though as there are too many other options.

Sunset Sherbet is more of a Sativa dominant hybrid in my opinion. The sample that I vaporized came from Cookies SF, so I don't question the genetics. The Durban ancestor is very prominent in this hybrid. Both in flavor and in cerebral effects. I found myself clear headed and euphoric after vaping. There were little to no body effects except for some headache relief. I found myself to be very focused, which made work just a little bit more enjoyable. The flavor has a very Durban-like fuel taste with a sweetness in the aftertaste. It's a bit less sweet than its GSC parent though. Nice, but not incredible.
