Gelato #33

7/19/2023
I dab. I'm medically retired and have nothing to do all day but dab, unfortunately. This strain, G33, is frequently difficult to find at the two shops I visit. But if I notice it anywhere on their menus I always buy some, concentrate or flower. Today I'm dabbing some potent Live Resin in Gelato 33, and one dab set me back a pace. And I dab all day, so that's saying something. In a way it was like way back 50 years ago when I first started getting high. Now getting high is secondary to the medication, but I don't get high much anymore. Nicely, this took care of that and a few other things too; I need a muscle relaxant, and this helps, and I just noticed my L4-L5 spine injury stopped hurting about the time I started typing this. It may not promote sleep, but I'm going to find out if it helps relax my injured nerves and helps me take my afternoon nap. Oh yeah, it also makes me horny as a billy goat.

Alaskan Thunder Fuck

5/7/2023
I have smoked the original, Matanuska Thunderfuck, overlooking Cook Inlet in Anchorage, Alaska.(the Mat-Su adjoins Anchorage). [tl:dr] I'm from Juneau, AK and was "over-flighted" (re-routed) to Anchorage when the Alaska Airlines 737 I was on couldn't land in Juneau, my home, because of ultra-dense fog. Not uncommon. The plane stopped and stayed at Anchorage, and I was grounded until the weather cleared and I could proceed home to Juneau. I closed up shop with the downtown Marriott bartender, she took me to a supermarket parking lot where we waited for "the Guy" and bought an eighth or so. We drove to a city park, and I remember sitting in her car, parked overlooking Cook Inlet, and seeing the THC crystals--the trichomes--sparkling in the moonlight. I must have been nearly 50 then--ATF/MTF was a staple in the area at that point. It ended up being a magical weekend in Anchorage and with her, and ATF played its part. Otherwise I would have never met such a wonderful strain, nor enjoyed it with such a wonderful woman. I was held the weekend in Anchorage, and I can't say I've ever enjoyed such a could-have-been shitty situation.

Acapulco Gold

2/17/2022
I've been smoking for 55 years (I'm 70). Acapulco Gold was the second strain I purchased, the first being an unnamed Mexican. I can't describe how golden the buds were, like a sunset filtered by the righty light. Weed commonly sold for $10/oz where I lived and when the rumored Acapulco Gold actually did hit town it went for 50% more, at $15/oz. A lot of smokers I knew were skeptical of it based because A), the hype and/or price, and B) nobody there had ever seen or smoked it before. It was jus that rare in the Midwest. I was flush that week and wanted to try see what it was all about. The buds sparkled in the moonlight when I met the seller, a friend (the most common way then). We smoked a joint--and I immediately knew it was worth the price. It was night but I felt pretty energetic. It smoked nicely, smooth, well-cured and came on apace, I should have stopped sooner than I did. It was most definitely "bad ass weed." I smoked that ounce way to quick; I wanted to share its goodness with friends. And by then it had disappeared from our area, and I've only come across it a few times in the 50+ years since then. When I do I get goofy and buy as much as I can (practically) afford. Yesterday was my social security payday and I found it listed online at the two stores I buy my monthly supp]y of hash oil and found this legendary strain at both stores. I live in Washington state where there's a 21+ legal cannabis store every few blocks, it seems, and even here it is hard to find. I went on a spree and bought 5 grams of it out of 14 grams of oil in total. I didn't intend to buy as much but got carried away when I saw it. I should have bought more, hid some of it in the back of my dab oil-only desktop 'fridge, and saved it for a rainy day, it is that good. Instead I'm smoking it right now; I can't help it. It is like a day spent in the early '70s, trippin' along with friends.

Where's My Bike

11/18/2020
I'm dabbing Where's My Bike in diamonds 'n' sauce. It is very pleasant feeling, has an earthy, citrusy, and pine flavor, all at the same time. But does not have a rough edge to it, unlike some sativas I have dabbed. It's mellow.

Orange Cookies

Extremely relaxing, approaching couch-lock but not too tranquilizing. Helps with pain. I've dabbed about 3 gms on an enail and ready for more. This came from Smokey Point Productions in Washington state.

Cherry Cookies

I bought a 1/2 ounce of this GSC strain today from a number of GSC strains and phenos. After smoking a small sampling I can see why it has the outstanding rating it has--because it is outstanding. Smooth-smoking, relaxing body effect but able to do more than think about getting off the couch.

Blueberry Cheesecake

I've smoked this strain for about a year, off and on. Very nice body-effect, good pain relief for both nerve & muscle. The name tells you what it smells like. I've bought it from a variety of farms. The best was Solstice-produced.

Decent location on the #1 bus route makes the present location acceptable. Good neighborhood.
