Sour Grapefruit

4/8/2016
I picked up 5g ($9/g) at The C.A.R.E Center in Toronto. I can smell her parents, a nice balance between Sour Diesel and Grapefruit. Head effects, slight change in eye pressure, non-drowsy were all noticed after 2 bong hits. Buds were tight, but also had the distinctly fluffy texture of sativa.

C.A.R.E (Cannabis Access Resource and Education Center)

The C.A.R.E. Center has become my favourite dispensary. Their selection has grown exponentially since opening. A wide selection of products. They offer a lounge area to taste their offerings with any equipment you may require. The atmosphere is relaxed, yet professional. My only criticism is only a few strains have oz price breaks, but it is really difficult to take issue with them for this because of the quality of their products. Quality flowers from $7-12/g. The selection, price and quality of their extracts are the best I have encountered in Toronto. The best part for me is they are local.

Canadian Green Dispensary and Holistic Services

The location is convenient. The owner, I forget her name, was friendly and quickly processed my membership. I was given a tour of their products and was pleased to see price breaks for 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, full oz. The fact they test some of their flowers is also really amazing (with caveat below). I do have a few criticisms. Products like the JuJu Joint are priced slightly higher ($5 in this case) than some competitors. I think the convenience of location makes up for it--for some. I tried lower graded Zombie-OG, mid graded Green Crack and Pink Kush. The Zombie-OG and Green Crack are both grown by the dispensary, if I recall correctly. The Pink Kush came from another source. Both the Zombie-OG (12%) and Green Crack (21%) were lab tested and I felt confident about those claims after smoking both. However, both cultivars smelled of "cut-grass." I can accept this for the Zombie-OG (lower grade), less so for the Green Crack (mid+). The imported Pink Kush was expensive @$90 1/4 ( the oz is $220--more reasonable), but did not suffer from the "cut-grass" odour; it was less potent than I expected for Pink Kush. I should add that I smelled the Zombie OG and Green Crack before buying (sample jars) and didn't detect the cut-grass odour to the degree I did with purchased product. It was explained to me by the owner that a recent court ruling has forced Dispensaries to charge HST and my purchase was charged taxes. I was not told this until I was cashing out (not on menu board when I visited). I know the CRA might be going after dispensary owners, but there is a precedent for not charging taxes on Doctor prescribed medication. Also, not all dispensaries are charging HST. All of my criticisms are easily improved. I felt less good about my visit as time passed. I will visit again in a few months because almost everything deserves a second try.
