I'm heavily invested in this place, been going there for over a year, and I have to write this review so hopefully the owner of the place gets certain budtender's shit together. I have a medical authorization, which means I get 10% off. One time recently, one of the budtenders charged me full price because he was unclear on the law. Things went fine after that was fixed on the next visit, but tonight, something happened that I can't just pass off as employee ignorance.
Tonight, I was HEAVILY overcharged for my purchase.
I picked up an eighth of Beast mode OG for 22.50 w d/c, eighth of OG Cookies at 22.50 w d/c, eighth of Lost Coast OG at 22.50, and a gram of White Nightmare for 9 dollars w d/c.
Now do the math. That equals $76.50
The budtender, A rather tall male, the tallest male working there, charged me 85 dollars, total.
I had not done the math in total before I left, but wish I had since he gypped me. I trusted him to do his job correctly. He didn't give me a receipt when I reached for the bag. Probably on purpose, considering that when I called about it when I got home, the accused didn't deny it, he just said that without a receipt they can't do anything. I gave them a play by play description of who helped me and who checked me out at the register. Still told, "Can't do anything without a receipt." Was also told "Hey, you're getting the ten percent discount so I dunno man. Nothing I can do."
At this point I realized the level of intelligence I was dealing with. The person on the phone not realizing that by being overcharged, I didn't receive any flipping discount at all!
This place is close by, but if this bullshit keeps up, I'll start getting my cannabis elsewhere! The market is saturated with options so don't think enough screw ups won't go unnoticed!
Just blazed some MK Ultra. Two snapper bowls and head is slightly dazed. Three snapper bowls in and head is decompressing. Head feeling heavier. This is the most head focused indica I've ever had. I should have figured as much with such a name. Smell is strange. Usually it doesn't matter what kind of weed, skunky or not, the smell is lovely to me. But this stuff is like a cross between cheese and stank ass body odor, with some used gym socks thrown in. Four bowls in, this bowl was a legit bowl. Head heavier. A bit dazed. Legit high now. Uno mas. Snapper for the last. aaand stoned. Shall I go for overkill? I shall.....for science. For this, Im straying from the review material a bit, and tossing a mix of 7 or so, strains on top of it. I am now where I want to be headspace wise. Have a good one y'all. Helped with pain and anxiety.
Came in as a new patient just to look around. They had some strains that I haven't really seen since I started my voyage into MMJ, which only started recently, admittedly. After a nice chat with the guy behind the desk, and my asking, he suggested Adak OG and Albino Bubba Kush for my back, hip and sciatic problem. Got 5 bucks off an eighth as a new patient as well as a nice 1/2 gram of kief. The suggested strains worked pretty well. Some strains seem to aggravate the pain, but this combo had me feeling much less pain and let me get some much needed rest, as well. Definitely will be stopping by again.
Bar none one of the strongest, immediate kick in your face upon exhalation strains I've ever smoked. Of course grower love has a lot to do with it. The one I'm reviewing was sitting at 23.35%. Kicked my ass. Def in my top 5. If you get the chance to smoke it, do yourself a favor and do it. Very few strains I've had, had have that immediate effect once I exhaled like this one.
This strain has become my go-to for pain relief. I suffer from chronic, intractable pain as a result of a spinal cord injury so I was looking for a strain that would help relieve the pain. On exhale, I was already feeling less pain. Three bowls in and the pain is no longer as significantly noticeable. Very mellow high, but still strong enough to kick your ass to bed if you need it to. I absolutely love this strain.
When the first rec cannabis stores were opening, this one was among the ones nearby me, so I've gone here for a bit, now. It all seems so nice as first. The colorful menus. The displays. The expensive as all hell--but that's expected--glasspipes and bongs.
But the service, left much to be desired. I love weed and I'm passionate about it, so I know a lot about it. Most of the budtenders here, didn't know much beyond the basics of sativa and indica. They will pretty much recommend you what they're trying to sell out of, instead of what you actually need for your cannabis concerns.
Example: I go in and tell the budtender that I'm looking for something for pain. Back pain. Chronic pain. She presents me Dawg Star Cannabis Orange Kush and says, "I really like this one because of the flavor. B-but it's good for pain, too. I use it for my stuff all the time." My bullshit alarm was already going off, but I was a seriously hurting unit and so took the recommendation, giving her the benefit of the doubt, hoping that I would have good results. Nope. Tastes great. Smells great. But potency in the high and it's ability to help relieve pain? Not there. At all.
I was not a happy camper about that.
Their prices are quite expensive. They very rarely had the ten dollar gram buds when I went. Always like 12 on up. Same thing with 1/8ths and qtrs. Very rarely will you see any 45 dollar 1/8ths. Their qtrs were about as expensive as what I'm used to paying for half O's. $120.00! I saw a few strains go even higher in price! On my third visit, they had some Dawg Star Cannabis Pineapple Kush or Haze which had piqued my curiosity, and it was 55 for an 1/8th. I took the plunge, and once again found myself with a pretty little glass jar(and they will swear up and down that you're not paying extra for the glass because the same company blows the glass,etc, which is believable until you realize they expect you to pay a minimum 15 dollar mark up for anything by them, that is close to 20.00% total cannabinoids including THC) , filled with good smelling and great tasting weed, that. just. isn't. potent enough. Which is really sad. When you pay 55 bucks at a 15 dollar mark-up as compared to the standard 40 an 1/8th, were all used to, you expect fire. You expect superior quality since you're paying more for it. I'm sure that we can all agree that that is a fair assumption to make, right? So, once again, their product failed to meet up to my, and I'm sure many others' (fair) standards. I know more about weed than the one surf/skateboard bum looking dude at the counter, and the rest of the counter staff tends to be women who weren't hired on the merits of their knowledge of cannabis(Guys you might be thinking who cares!? she looks good! she doesn't need to know alot! Yea, no. Just like people who buy music from "artists" just because they are physically attracted to them, y'all are hurting the overall industry with those mindsets and actions).
I stopped going here once I found out about another store in the area that sells some strains at 25 dollars an 1/8th. Once in awhile, when I'm already flush with what I need for my medical concerns, I stop by Clear Choice to see if they're offering any 25 dollar 1/8ths. Each time I've been told no, and one time one of the budtenders in skinny jeans proceeded to tell me in a sarcastic, condescending tone, "Uh, 1/8ths are at least 40 dollars..." Riiiiight. Y'all keep doing that. I'll be going to a place filled with budtenders that actually know their stuff, have a loyalty program for their customers savings, and provides 5-6 strains that are 25 dollar an 1/8th.
tl;dr: This is the place for people who have more money than brain cells. If you are proud of being that way, this is the store for you.
