First off, I left $6 in the tip jar, so it's not that I had any particular issue with the staff; they were pleasant enough. This was my first time there—first time to a dispensary, in fact, so I felt a bit awkward. I'd driven some distance because they offer a tincture I wanted to try. Online, many (most?) dispensaries advertise some nice freebies to first time patients. If I'd driven the opposite direction for these tinctures, to a certain Beach dispensary I would have been given a 25% discount (which would have amounted to $46 for my purchase today). I spent $185 at CAPS and was given a single hard candy. No free gram—which I wouldn't have wanted since I don't smoke—nor any small discount, let alone anything approaching 25% off. Just a little jolly rancher candy. So my suggestion here is more for the management: Better not to announce any freebie at all for FTPs; instead, let them be pleasantly surprised when you do offer something, like a little candy.
