I’m so happy with the service and the weed that I plan to make this place my regular stop on paydays. Thomas offered perfect suggestions and went above & beyond to make sure I knew the best uses for my purchase. I have a cold. And now that I’m home, I can definitively say his advice was spot on. Thank you for being awesome. I needed some awesome today.

I never leave bad reviews. Two decades employed in variations of customer service/retail have given way to tons of grace for my fellow behind the counter types. Everyone has a bad day now & then. Some folks are new to the job. Shit happens. But tonight. This was without a doubt the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had anywhere. And I’m appalled just enough to say it out loud: I will never return to this place again. And sure. I’m just one customer. And while I’ve probably only spent $200-300 there since I moved to Salem a month & a half ago, I’m bummed because I thought I’d found my weed store. And most of my experiences before tonight were excellent. I’ve actually never really had a bad experience at any dispensary before tonight. I think that’s partly why I find the whole thing so unconscionable Budtenders are usually awesome. It’s a f’ing betrayal of the trade. Long story short: my cartridge that I bought two days ago leaked. I did all I could to revive it. It’s been a frustrating mess throughout my day. But it was half empty and I hate returning shit. Finally tonight, I couldn’t even get air through the f’ing thing. It ruined one of my pens because I leaked through the bottom (I’d never seen one do that before) and all I wanted was to exchange my useless half full cartridge for a working half gram cartridge and instead I was treated like a criminal. Seriously. At first, my dog & I walked in & I realized I didn’t have my ID. The gal’s eyes widened, her manager came out of the back room (now, just to be clear, I’m a small woman. And I fully understand the world is different for women and sometimes we feel unsafe and the cause needs no debate. That said, I’m 5’2” so not exactly an intimidating presence) I was told to leave immediately because I couldn’t be there without an ID. I asked how long they were open as I was leaving and they couldn’t even answer that question. I had to leave. And I get. It’s the law. I obey the law. Hell. I didn’t even start using weed until it became legal! All I wanted to know was if I would have time to walk all the way home and back with my ID. But that was too much for them to answer. All they could say was that I had to leave immediately. So I walked home. Got my ID & walked back. I decided I would forget about their gross overreaction before and start fresh. Present my ID and calmly explain my situation. I fully acknowledged that the cartridge was only half full. I wasn’t asking for a refund or a brand new full cartridge. I totally admitted that more of it was vaped by me than had leaked out. Although a good deal had indeed leaked. But I anticipated and acquiesced, yes, it’s only half full. And it’s also unusable. As it has been all day. The bit that had been used by me required such force of suction there was very little enjoyment in it. It was only after hours of frustration that I finally gave up and assumed they’d trade the useless half gram of live resin cartridge they had sold me for another half gram cartridge that is workable. It’s handy that those things come in half grams too. It made sense to me. Frequent customer comes in. Makes the reasonable request that they actually honor the guarantee they make sure to exclaim at time of purchase. I honestly assumed they’d be reasonable. And good lord. I was wrong. They’d made up their mind before I even returned with my ID that they didn’t want to help me. And the inept manager whined her canned response at me, having no fucks to give for me and my live resin. It blew me away. These two vapid stepford budtenders showing zero concern even though I was the only person in the place. The two of them couldn’t figure out a way to do right by their customer. And I know customers can be assholes. And by the end of this interaction I was definitely one myself. I also know from having been a person on the other side of other counters that swapping one half gram cartridge wouldn’t have lost anyone any money. And it would have insured my return very soon. In fact, I’m losing money. My money (and I’m sure that store has more money than I have right now) is wasted on unreachable resin in its cartridge prison. But who cares about the customer. Not those gals. In fact, when another customer entered, they asked me to leave. As I was trying to leave my number for their managers to call me so I could complain, they accused me of becoming threatening or something and in their shrill unison repeated that I had to leave. I was treated like a fucking criminal. I mean. It’s crazy to try to describe it. The guy behind me must have thought I was crazy. But it made no sense that they could do nothing for me except make me feel like a pariah. And I know I was angry. And I’m sure I was assertive in my expectation that they’d do the right thing. They failed. It wasn’t just that they didn’t honor their guarantee. It’s how they behaved. I know I don’t look my best right now. But no customer deserved the treatment I received tonight. Again. I never leave negative reviews. I hate writing this one. I also just can’t let this go unspoken. I’m stunned. Disappointed. Angry. Embarrassed. And humiliated. And on top of all that, I still can’t get anything out of this goddamn cartridge. Overall, this experienced sucked. And no I will never recommend you to a friend.

Just moved to Salem from Portland. Love my Nectar store there. And am super happy to have had a great experience at Nectar Salem. Great budtender & great suggestions.
