Maui Wowie

11/18/2017
Possibly one of the most famous strains in existence. Thanks to movies like the many installments of the Cheech and Chong series, as well as other Pot-Centric, Cult Classic, Comedies such as How High, Half baked, Dazed and Confused, Pineapple Express, and Grandma's Boy. Maui Wowie, as well as Thai Stick, are among the few strains actually indentified in Cheech and Chong's greatest classic, Up In Smoke. Due to hearing about this strain from icons like Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong so long ago that I probably had been smoking pot for less than a year before I first heard it mentioned by the comdey duo in their flagship film dating my awareness of this strain's existence to over 15 years ago at the very least and possibly closer to 20. I did not actually try this strain until the Summer of 2015, and, when I did, it was not in the flower form that I'd always expected to encounter it in, but rather it was oil in a cartridge designed to be smoked with a vape pen (a high dollar, modifiable, e-cigarette with a large tank that is filled "vape juice", which is a smokable, flavored liquid that typically contains Nicotene at a level of the consumer's choosing that can be as tiny as 2% and as extremely strong as 35% and greater. In this case however, the vape juice has been acquired by a relative that lived in the great state of Washington from one of their dispensaries there, and brought to me when they came to visit me in New Mexico, where I was living back in 2015. They brought my girlfriend at the time and I some strains of flower, along with about 10 cartridges of Maui Wowie and Green Queen oil. It may be due in part to the fact that I had raised Maui Wowie to an almost Mythical status in my head over 15 years of hearing it's name but never encountering it in the real world that caused my experience with it to seem somewhat lackluster when I discovered that, although it was a really good strain, it was in no way phenomenal or legendary as I had expected it to be. On the contrary, I greatly preferred the Green Queen over the Maui. This is probably due in part to the fact I seem to prefer Indica over Sativa, and Green Queen is a Hybrid while Maui Wowie is a pure, classic Sativa. It was still really good and deserving of a four-star rating, but it wasn't something really special like I'd hoped for it to be.

Blue Dream

11/18/2017
I was somewhat unimpressed with this strain. I recently acquired some along with two Indica Dominant Hybrids: Purple And Chemdawg. I found Blue Dream to be vastly inferior to the other two. Now, it is worth mentioning that those other two strains I just mentioned are, as I've already stated, both Indica Dominant, while Blue Dream is Sativa Dominant, so, admittedly, my judgement might be being affected by my preference for Indica over Sativa, though I don't think my preference for Indica is the predominant factor in my determination. Rather I think the other two strains were not just a preferable composition, but were superior in a more general or overall sense. Of all of the strains I've acquired over the past year, Blue Dream was one of my least favorite. The two best strains that come to mind from recent times are Chemdawg and Biesel (that I have heard is also sometimes called Chong Star, though I have yet to confirm that. I really want confirmation of that fact because Leafly doesn't currently have Biesel listed, but it does have Chong Star, and if they are indeed the same strain, I can simply review Chong Star, as I'm anxious to record my assessment of that exceptional strain). As for Blue Dream, I'd take any alternative strain that may be available, but if you're absolutely stuck with it, there are worse strains you could be limited to. It's not a great strain, but it is decent, which I grade as slightly higher than mediocre, so I believe that warrants a three-star rating.

Purple Trainwreck

11/18/2017
An excellent Indica Dominant Hybrid with a significantly high level of THC Content, which according to the bag from the dispensary is 17.21% on the low side and 25.15% on the high end. I acquired this strain along with some Chemdawg and some Blue Dream. The Chemdawg is also an Indica Dominant Hybrid, but the two strains seem to affect me quite differently. The Purple Trainwreck has a higher range of THC content, but despite this, I seem to get a stronger and more enjoyable high from the Chemdawg. I gave the Chemdawg a five-star rating, so I felt like the Purple Trainwreck had to be rated slightly lower. Both were far better than the Blue Dream however, which I plan to only award a three-star rating. Although I am mentioning that I feel Chemdawg is a superior Indica Dominant Hybrid strain, I find it superior to most of the strains I've acquired over the past year, so it's a pretty tall order to compete with Chemdawg, and although I give Chemdawg the nod, Purple Trainwreck is very close to the same degree of quality and is unlikely to disappoint the discerning smoker.

Chemdawg

11/18/2017
One of the best strains I've encountered in a while. I actually got a hold of this along with some Purple Trainwreck that was nearly equal in quality, and some Blue Dream that felt inferior to the other two. Chemdawg is a Hybrid with a slight Indica dominance of 55%. So it is a relatively even mix of Sativa and Indica compared with other strains. Although the Chemdawg and Purple Are both Indica Dominant Hybrids with similar THC Content. The high produced by Chemdawg seems far more unique and unlike most other strains. Perhaps this is due to Chemdawg's unique Lineage of Napalese combined with Thai (aka Thai Stick, for all you Cheech and Chong fans that remember Cheech thinking he was smoking Thai Stick, when it was in fact Dogshit, yet he puffs away on an enormous joint of bud and Dogshit because he'd misheard Tommy Chong initially). These unique strains from the far flung and remote corners of the world will often develop unique properties being cultivated in such isolation, so this may account for Chemdawg's seemingly unique effects. Regardless of all the fun facts, Chemdawg is an exceptional strain that you are unlikely to be disappointed with.

Bruce Banner

10/16/2017
I have been smoking a great deal of Bruce Banner #4 in recent months, and it is definitely among the most potent strains I commonly encounter. I am always confident that I won't be disappointed buying Bruce. In short, the quality is exceptional and consistently so, which should be a pretty ringing endorsement, if the 5 stars weren't a clear enough indication that any funds applied to the purchase of Bruce Banner is sure to be money well spent.

Green Queen

10/16/2017
I experienced this strain in oil form. I got a vape cartridge of it from a dispensary in Washington. I don't remember a great deal of detail from back then, suffice to say that I bought it along with oil vape cartridges of 3 or 4 other strains including Maui Wowie, and I distinctly remember the Green Queen was my favorite by a mile.
