As husband of a cancer patient traveling cross country, I was extremely disappointed with this business. It's easily the worst of the many businesses in many States I've been to. We finally made it through Texas and my wife was looking forward to New Mexico reciprocity, and access to medicine. It was our bad luck to decide to shop at Pecos Valley Production in Sunland. The business was BUSY, and there was a long line in the noonday sun. The doors to the medical side of the business were closed and each had a handwritten sign directing us to use the single recreational door. There was a buzzer near the door which I eventually learned was to let the staff know there was a medical patient waiting, but it was unlabeled and the staff didn't answer it when I tried it. All this might be an aggravation for some people, but for a cancer patient who had just finished a course of radiation and chemo treatments that left her sensitive to sunlight, and unable to eat normally, it was a bit too much. We stayed anyway, and eventually were let into the building. When my wife asked if reciprocity was in effect, she was told she was ineligible because her Drivers License and Medical card were from different States. The dispensary collected our IDs on entrance to the building, and didn't tell us that my wife would also need proof of residence to match her State issued Medical Card. She had it, of course, but we had no idea that it was needed and so were denied medical reciprocity. Seems bad form, if not discrimination to me, but I'm now in a bad mood and may be a poor judge. When we eventually were called into the back room, the bud tender was poorly informed and actually sold my wife sativa when she'd specifically asked for indica only. When the transaction was done and we suggested that making patients wait in line in the hot sun with the recreational customers wasn't a good idea, we were informed that it was our own fault that we'd chosen to shop there, and that's why I'm bothered enough to write this rant and warn the rest of you.

Great place! Very inviting, but wait times are often very long. That’s to be expected this early on after the recreational legalization, but I hope it’s alleviated soon.
