Things to do after you get your medical card in Oklahoma:

Oklahoma has long been known for its Cowboy and Indian lore.  Be sure and stop in at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City.  Here you will find multiple galleries of sculptures and paintings along with clothing items and accessories depicting cowboy history.  At the entrance of the museum you will be treated by the  18 feet tall “End of the Trail”.

Take the state run down Route 66.  There are many places to stop and explore with roadside attractions and landmarks galore along this route.

Waterways at Beavers Bend State Resort Park provide opportunities for boating and fishing as well as tent and RV camping.  There is also a nature center with entertainment and programs for children of all ages.  After visiting the nature center continue your adventure of the park by hiking, riding horseback or hopping on a hayride.  You will find Beavers Bend State Resort Park close to Broken Arrow.

The Oklahoma Aquarium is located in the town of Jenks, OK and is famous for having the planet’s biggest bullhead shark collection.  The aquarium includes exhibits showcasing local and exotic marine and ocean wildlife.  

Located in the southwest area of the state you will find the Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge.  This refuge sits between two ranges of granite mountain and is one of the prettiest spots in the state.  The 59,000 acre refuge contains 15 miles of trails, multiple lakes for fishing and an area for camping.  Bison can be seen wondering the area along with other forms of wildlife.  There are over 275 species of birds that nest and feed around this mountain range making it a great place for bird watching.
