OG Skunk

6/18/2021
I have been running this skunkOG strain for 3-4 years now, and she is by far one of my all time favorites across the board! She grows EXTREMELY well in far northern new England, always finishing in plenty of time. She is very pest and mold resistant, having had zero issues in the last few years outdoors, even when other plants near her had issues. Holds up really well to somewhat extreme temperatures, having thrived through 90-100 degree heat waves and as low as 40-45 degree nights. Outdoors she grows extremely well, very bushy and full, reaching roughly 6ft tall when finished. Given space to stretch/grow fully, she will produce well over 1lb per plant. Keep in mind I plant directly in ground, so they can grow as big as they want. She produces phenomenal quality, even during the year we barely fed her anything but water (planted directly in ground) she killed it! Very frosty, very very dense nuggets, very heavy too. She may need significant support, as she really chunks up and holds serious weight. Scent is a lemon/citrus mixed with skunk. Taste is similar to the scent. Very tasty, dense, sticky, and very slow burning. I just finished running her for the 1st time indoors, and she did not disappoint! She outproduced everything except the gorilla glue #4 for weight...and might have even beaten the glue. One thing to take into account indoors, is that she will stretch considerably when switched to flower. I'm talking AT LEAST double to triple in size. Mine all grew right up to the lights and past them, I had to LST them down to keep em under control! She doesn't get as bushy indoors, and seemed to exhibit more of a sativa grow inside, stretching a whole lot, leaving good space between bud sites, but also filling in very chunky by the end. She needs support for sure indoors, as her long branches have difficulty supporting the buds in the final weeks. Indoors, her quality was insane. Very bright green, with the trichomes and very light hairs, the nuggets almost look white in the jars. Very dense, very sticky, very slow burning, and absolutely delicious! Not a super strong taste, but just right. Again, the taste is very lemon-skunk, very well balanced. Unfortunately I hatched my last seed of her about 3yrs ago, so I've been babying that mom ever since! Hopefully I can track down some more seeds of this lovely lady, just don't know who bred the ones I got so I guess I have to cross my fingers and hope I find a good one! I would highly recommend this strain for beginners, since she is heavily resistant to most of the issues you'll be fighting during your 1st grows. As long as you treat her well, take needs into account, and support her towards the end, she will produce more gorgeous nugget than you know what to do with. She is hands down a serious plant, and doesn't require the tedious effort some others do. The only thing that REALLY surprises me about her, is that everyone doesn't run her in their gardens! Everyone knows the names skunk #1 and OG kush, and she deserves the same attention and respect as her 2 parents. I obviously can't say enough good about her! Altogether, she is by far one of my all time favorites. Last summer, I kept every last bit of her for myself, and gave other stuff to friends haha! I happily smoked her exclusively for months, even though I had 5 other options. It's no wonder she is near the top of my favorites, considering she's made up of 2 of the most popular strains of all time. Literally most other top notch strains are derived from her 2 parents. She will continue to grace my garden for as long as I'm able to keep her around.
