Extremely Disappointing Experience — Repeated Plant Health Issues

I normally don’t leave reviews, but my experience needs to be shared so other growers understand what they may be walking into.

Over several months, I sourced multiple groups of plants from Sun Clone. From the very first delivery, the plants arrived in unusually rough condition and showed signs of pests. I’ve been growing for over two decades, so I was able to recover most of them, but things went downhill fast.

Not long after, plants from different batches began showing clear symptoms consistent with Hop Latent Viroid. I had samples analyzed by a reputable lab, and the results confirmed infection. I immediately tightened my already strict sanitation protocols, but additional cultivars from the same nursery continued to show the same symptoms.

After running extensive testing, the majority of the genetics I received from Sun Clone came back positive for HLV. Despite presenting these results, the nursery continued insisting the affected cultivars were “clean,” even though later tests proved otherwise.

What concerned me most wasn’t just the infected plants — it was the unwillingness to acknowledge the issue or take appropriate corrective steps. It caused multiple resets, lost time, and significant frustration.

I’m leaving this review to warn other growers: test anything coming into your garden from any nursery. HLV is real, it spreads fast, and once it’s in your room, it can set you back months. Unfortunately, my experience with Sun Clone was the worst I’ve ever had in 20+ years of growing.
