Many substances fall under the umbrella of “psychedelics,” including plants, fungi, and synthetic compounds. The “classic psychedelics” include LSD, psilocybin, DMT, and mescaline, and can help with anxiety, depression, and many other conditions, and there are so many other psychedelic substances that can offer benefits to people.

The language of most decriminalization measures uses the term “entheogens” or “entheogenic plants and fungi,” which include the classic psychedelics listed above, as well as ayahuasca, peyote, ibogaine, ketamine, and substances which contain indole amines, tryptamines, and phenethylamines, and many more. Each substance is unique in where it comes from and the benefits it has to offer.
