this was my second attempt at makin a purchase from their shop and both time we have had to argue the right of taxation with them. I am a disabled veteran with a 100% disability and am also tax exempt. They say they offer va discounts and then turn around and charge the 15.9% tax to a tax exempt veteran. State law states that they can charge the 7% assement on med. marijuana but they can not charge state and local sales tax to a tax exempt veteran. The uninformed gal workin they counter has giving several excuses as to why they charge the tax all the way from the owners choose not to honor the tax exemption to the va discount offsets any taxes they may charge. One does not offset the other. You can not state that you give a 15% veteran discount and then make up the discount by charging a tax that clearly does not apply. A simply phone call to the tax commission or to one of our local marijuana advocates, Ron Durbin office would be a great place to start, would clarify this for them, however I truely don’t believe clarification is what their interested in, $$$$ is the true interest, and as time passes this should be one of the places that fall by the wayside. As far as the buds, the total came to, with the 15% va discount and the 15.9 tax added back in the 7 grams came to $75 for buds that are ok at best. Just some people jumping in the green rush.
