Grapefruit reviews
Read people’s experiences with the cannabis strain Grapefruit.
This knocks me down. I do enjoy Grapefruit but for me this is not one for running errands or working out (that would be something like Sleestack, Citrus Farmer, Kali Mist or Borderliner). If I use even a small amount of Grapefruit I can fairly easily and quickly go to sleep regardless of the time of day. It slows me down, makes my body feel heavy and slow and, as another reviewer noted, it makes me yawn a lot. It causes muted or blurred thoughts, which for me is conducive to falling asleep when racing thoughts are distracting/paralysing or contributing to insomnia. I find thinking to be too much work when I use Grapefruit! It is an effective sleep aid that allows me to reset and wake up not groggy or muddled. Weird, but that's just how this one works, for me. One of the really fascinating things about how personal the ways various strains affect different people. Grapefruit is the only strain that I have encountered so far that is described as sativa but has the sole effect of making me relaxed and sleepy without any speedy or high or energising effects before or after ingesting. For instance, Lemon G's immediate effect makes me relaxed and I could take a nap but I know that if I ride it out for ten minutes and drink some tea or water while waiting, an energy lift comes along that is quite stable and lasts reliably. J1 sends me through the roof and then crashes me all within about ten minutes along with a horrible headache, which I find extremely unpleasant and in no way helpful. Grapefruit does not do that at all. Just relaxed/heavy/sleepy. :)
Probably one of my favorite sativa strains the smell is awesome everytime I crack open a jar I get an intense grapefruit smell, that is so much like real grapefruits it still jumps out the flavor is just like the smell only maybe not quite as intense. Which lends itself to a nice fresh flavored smoke that when grown, harvested, and cured properly is extremely smooth, flavorful, with quite high THC levels . The high is very upbeat, and creative ,there's zero anxiety, and it's plenty strong but with very little come down after it starts to wear off. I'd say it's a great wake and bake strain it's kinda like a cup of coffee you get instant energy, after a bowl a long day at work doesn't look quite so long. Great flavor in concentrate form almost forgot to mention this stuff makes great oil! All in all this is a great Sativa!
This is a very clean sativa, but there's some clear remnants of an indica stone from its mixed lineage, with a contrasting energy that is initially energetic, and then relaxing. Smells and tastes incredible - I love the aroma of grapefruit. It's almost like the cultivators had me in mind.
This is my current favorite strain at the time of writing for introspection, meditation, creativity, and basically anything that requires me to be in touch with my emotions. One thing in particular stood out about it: I noticed a very strong feeling of empathy towards complete strangers on the internet. (I've tagged this strain as Empathetic.) I'm at a loss to explain this, but it's definitely an effect I'd seek out in the future. If I had to use but one word to describe it: Nuance. You'll notice its effects most if you concentrate on self-improvement.
Grapefruit feels more "productive" than other strains I've tried, in the sense that it doesn't knock me out or overwhelm my senses. I did have a fairly challenging experience after I had smoked too much, however. My thoughts became arrested with a somewhat disturbing thought-train that was enormous in scope and impossible to stop. In some ways it mirrored anecdotes of religious revelation. I could not sleep, because holding still was intensely uncomfortable. But, this thought pattern demanded every ounce of my attention, and I couldn't actually bring myself to get up and move. The sum of my mental resources had been hijacked, like an unruly process in need of a task-kill. Moreover, I was physically exhausted in that way that one is when they're only kept awake by coffee. If you have laid in bed at night obsessing over some intellectual problem, then you already know the experience. However, this scarcely felt voluntary.
I'm still looking for that personal holy grail of sativas, but this ranks up there with CHERNOBYL. I'll be looking into that one more, next. I'm strongly considering recommending this to my friend, who is theologically inclined, and will no doubt find some interest in its more spiritual overtones if he is able to re-create my experience.
Grapefruit is the God Strain!
On it's own or crossbred with other legendary strains to produce Gods offspring

Grapefruit is a phenomenal strain for my PTSD. As a Marine veteran I hardly used cannabis pre enlistment, but after treating my ptsd related anxiety for years with alcohol I was desperate to find a change. The multiple meds the VA gave me took me on one of the worst emotional roller coaster rides of my life then I found the grapefruit strain. This strain proved stereotypes wrong. I could function without couch lock and was able to live more normally because the strain causes minimal anxiety. It's no good for night terrors because can interrupt sleeping schedules. But this strain can help when challenging, and processing both internal and external fears related to traumatic experiences. The strain heightens my sense of emotional sensitivity. And allows me to better understand my triggers and live with them. It my be too intense for vets new to cannabis and if so I would recommend mowie wowie. Similar but less intense.
Move over Durban there's a new favorite sativa in my cabinet.
It taste like it smells.
Like a ruby red grapefruit.
Been very busy! Thx for hanging in there :)
As a Sativa lover and a veteran user, I like the “clean” high of this particular strain. It takes the edge off any pain I have and it doesn’t burn me out right away, instead giving me the classic Sativa lift! I get physical and mental effects and for me that equals a decent strain for a nice uplifting session. This one would be great in a muffin or cookie and useful for days when people with arthritis want to get stuff done. My mobility / physical challenges are intimately connected to my mental health & this clean, motivating, uplifting strain helps both aspects. If you have depression this is a good strain I think. If you are prone to anxiety this might be a bit much depending on your supplier/quality.
*** And speaking of quality lol the cannabis I got from a local dispensary is excellent quality but I wish it was a bit more grape-fruity flavour :) I still find smoking the cheapest way for those of us who use a fair amount to consume daily- again I’d rather eat it but what do you do? If you use it to mitigate symptoms or disabilities then you do what you can. Even with ‘medical’ or compassionate pricing it can still be challenging to access what you need in the way you need it! Enough preaching hahaha
So, lastly, this strain I also like or almost love because it does not set my asthma off. Now again a quality issue- the last time I rated this strain I did NOT like it as much as this time and I swear that’s the difference in the grow/supply!! Some strains make me cough or wheeze so much but not this bad boy this time. Woot!
Happy high :)
When I first obtained the buds I was skeptical because I had gotten used to a previous sativa that nobody knew the name I suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder Mania bipolar and physical pain from arthritis I am a guitarist and a songwriter this grapefruit expanded my creativity with my music and eliminated stress and Anxiety as well as giving me an uplifted happy personality all of my friends noticed the difference in my character immediately I hope I can keep a steady supply of this on hand
