Often an organization succeeds based upon the performance, knowledge, effort, and wisdom of one or two key individuals. Without these key individual participants, the organization would likely and very simply drift into obscurity along with the hundreds of others. Matt Kovarsky overwhelmingly made Novel Tree the place of choice of hundreds of medical and recreational users in the greater Seattle area. We heard recently that Matt Kovarsky is no longer with Novel Tree as of November, 2023. While his defining contribution will and can never be fully undone, Novel Tree will never be even close to the same store that it was with his presence. Matt Kovarsky was THE SINGULAR REASON we chose Novel Tree for so very many years. Now that we hear that he is gone, we find it quite hard not to look for another dispensary. Matt Kovarsky, you will be sorely, sorely missed! Does anyone know where he has gone?

After waiting over thirty years to try marijuana, both my wife and I decided that as we live in a legal state, we should finally give it a try. One of my main interests in using cannabis was for my chronic pain and anxiety, which I thought might be aided by the use of CBD strains, and The Novel Tree is one dispensary that seems to consistently carry them. My wife and I were extremely apprehensive about our first time going to a shop, but all of that melted away from the firs minute we walked into the shop. The Novel Tree is a beautiful store, thoughtfully arranged, and staffed by very friendly, kind people who made us feel welcome, which was very much appreciated by us as first time buyers. I particularly enjoy the fact that this felt like a store where older consumers wouldn't feel out of place. It felt comfortable and professional and not like walking into a college dorm room. We've been twice now, and this shop is already at the top of our list even though we have several in walking distance from us in Seattle. It was an amazing experience and I recommend it highly for everyone, but especially older first timers who are nervous about visiting a shop for the first time.

I wanna start off this by saying I’ve been coming here for almost 5 years at this point never left a good review because I never thought I would have to because this store is very exceptional but the situation that I had to deal with today was completely unacceptable, It was just another routine day for me ordering in the store, then checking out, but when I went to check out the lady in question “J’DA” that was assisting me first off her vibe just seemed very unwelcoming to me unfortunate because she’s checked me out in the past but today felt different, So when checking out, I went to my car to check the items like I always do to see if I have them all but today I didn’t have the joint that I ordered alongside with my cartridge so I went back into the store to inform her then, she asked if I can check my car again, which I accepted And checked again My order still wasn’t there Then I walked into the store as third time To ask for assistance and at this point “J’DA” Was being really combative and argumentative to me When my simple request was, can I get a refund The item that I PAID FOR Once again she requested for me to check my car my person And the surroundings to which, I complied To yet again My order still wasn’t anywhere to be found So for a fourth time I had to convince/argue with “J’DA” to give me my order THAT I PAID FOR She ended up giving me my Order But did so in a very condescending fashion overall, this was a very Surreal and shocking moment For me because I’ve been coming here for 5 years ,I definitely know that I will not be checking “J’DA”no longer.

My review is of the Medical side. The recreational side is really nice. Reminds me of a micro brewery tasting room. The cannabis in that side is pretty standard. Lots of glass as well. Hopping over to the medical side I found myself in a completely different world. Cool art on the walls and two women were behind the front counter. They were both incredibly friendly. I said to them that it felt like I was in a completely different place than the other side. There wasn't even the regular cannabis smell that most of these places have. It was very very clean. They led me over to a consultation area and we chatted about what would help me the most. They said they are real sticklers about pesticides etc. While the prices were fair they definitely earned what they are priced at. I wish I knew that this place didn't require a medical card. And let me tell you they have everything medicinal in the truest sense of the word. I will be a regular here. It's that good.
