MCEC Delivery

6/11/2022
I'm giving MCEC 1 star across the board. If I could give zero stars or a negative rating, I would. This has been the worst experience I've had with any delivery service, hands-down. I placed an order on Wednesday morning. I get a call Wednesday night letting me know that they ran out of time for my order even though I placed my order early morning. I then spoke to the manager, Tyler, and he threw in a few things for the inconvenience, and I was told that I would get my order on Thursday afternoon. So, on Thursday in the early evening, I received a call from Pablo, the driver and he said that he didn't have time to deliver my order as he was in Hesperia and that "traffic was bad." This was at about 5pm. I needed medicine for my Multiple Sclerosis. I was then told that they would waive the delivery fee for the inconvenience and threw in some concentrate. Pablo promised me that he would make sure that my order got delivered on Friday between 4 & 5pm. I then asked Pablo how would the Friday driver know to deliver to me between 4 & 5pm? Pablo said to me twice that he would be sure to communicate this message to both Tyler and the Friday driver, David. I canceled meetings to make sure I was here in time for the between 4 and 5pm delivery. Well, still nothing. I called MCEC once again to ask them why my order hadn't arrived as it was past the time that Pablo had promised. They passed the message to David to have him call me, so he did. David said that he would deliver my order tonight "between 8 & 9pm, but no guarantees I'll make that exact time, and is that okay?" I told him that, "It wasn't okay and that Pablo promised me that my order would be delivered on Friday/today between 4 & 5pm." I communicated this to David & told him how frustrated I was especially because it had been 2 days already. David cut me off when I was explaining what had happened since Wednesday, and had the nerve to ask me, "Why are you including me in this?" I said to David, "Excuse me?" David said, "That's not my problem. You have a right to be upset. But, my boss and Pablo never communicated any of that to me. That's between you and them, but I'm not taking responsibility because no one told me that!" So, I told him that he needed to take ownership as he was a representative of MCEC. It wasn't about him, it was about the company. He disagreed, I told him he needed to understand the concept of professional maturity and customer service. He sounded like he was 8-years-old and proceeded to say that, "He wouldn't be the one to blame. " I told him that not only was I frustrated but now my husband was, too. I told him that he should still take some ownership and understand my frustration given that I placed my order on Wednesday morning and still nothing. I also explained that he was handling the situation in the exact opposite way that I would have handled the situation. Then, David said he wasn't comfortable ordering my delivery anymore because I mentioned my husband. That was bizarre behavior to say the least. I called Tyler, the Ops Manager again and explained the situation. He said that David had already taken me out of his rotation and that he was still in the High Desert area. So, now, another driver by the name of Lacy is apparently delivering my order tomorrow. We shall see. I will not be using this service any more. This was the first time, and the last time! @MCEC Delivery: Please train your employees to be more professionally mature and to be respectful when they are speaking to customers. Just because David wasn't directly responsible for causing this error, does not mean that he can dismiss the issue and not be empathetic. I'll be taking this up with the GM, Yareli as she needs to know that her employees are not communicating with one another, are argumentative with customers, and that it will definitely continue to impact their business as well as their reputation. The only professional person throughout this experience was David, the Ops Manager but he didn't have the power to do or override much at all. I'm a C-level executive in the advertising industry and time is money for me. I don't need freebies, just good, reliable, and professional delivery. I don't mind paying more for customer service. For me to take the time out of my busy schedule and make the effort to write this review is something that isn't typical for me, but this was such a crazy & ridiculous experience, that I felt that it was important to let others know. Don't order from this place if you are not located in the High Desert as that's where they are based. My brother who is an attorney and lives in the High Desert recommended this service to me but he didn't have problems since he lives close to where MCEC is physically located/Hesperia. I live in North San Diego County, and Wednesdays are the MCEC-designated day that they deliver to my county. I placed my order on Wednesday morning for that reason, but still no product. :-(. If customer service and reliability are more important than saving a few dollars, don't use their service, you'll be sorry.
