REVIEW FROM A GRANDMA WITH BACK & NECK ISSUES:
My medical issues come from multiple surgeries including back & neck and symptoms of Lupus that can leave me spacey & depressed.
Now! About Durban Cookies:
I knew I liked Durban Poison so I figured this would be about the same. Boy, was I wrong! The pain reduction in my neck and back is wonderful. Not gone, but muted enough to concentrate on something else. That’s generally my goal for pain relief.
This went far beyond that! I am chairing an event this summer and had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do with it as far as a theme, decor, ANY OF IT! I’d been staring at my clipboard and a blank page for weeks. and beginning to panic. I tried Durban Cookies for the first time, the other day when I was helping my daughter with 4 kids under 8. I was the funnest Grandma ever! Laying on the floor coloring, and helping with homework, building a living room fort...Not once did I have to say “Grandmas back hurts, I have to rest”. Not sure who had more fun, me or them!.
I tried it again this morning. An hour later I had a theme, had scoured Pinterest for decor ideas and had a full page of notes on my clipboard.
It’s a SUPER HAPPY HIGH!! The ideas just flow and you just feel ALIVE but with no anxiety or edge to it. A little bit in the first 5 minutes then it just fades. That’s unusual to find in a Sativa, for me anyway. The taste is pleasant, doesn’t burn my throat and the buds are loose and easy to break apart without a grinder. It burns really nicely in a small pipe. Not too fast, not too slow. 3 or 4 hits is good for me.
I don’t know flavor profiles or turpenes like a lot of people, I just know how it makes me feel. Hopefully this will help someone else.
I like Durban Poison more but this still keeps me very energized and focused.
It makes me feel very productive, allows me to get things done around the house without wanting to lay around. I also like to write on it, it makes me feel very creative! One of my favorite strains so far!

Nice and mellow. No head rush. Potentially because of the 8% THC in the particular brand shopped at MMD Marina del Rey.
Lots of people are not realizing that this is actually a cut/pheno of Cookies that just leans towards the Durban side that is in Cookies. Its not a cross at all.
It is "GSC" not "GSC x Durban Poison"... I thought it was a cross until I got back home and looked it up on this site and others.
That being said, I am loving PharmaCann's Live Sugar version of it and its excellent overall.
This is purchased on the Illinois Med Market at a Chicago Dispensary.
Smell: SWEET (unique flavor found in Cookies cuts), Spice, Pine, Lemon from the Durban Parentage ... Basically leans towards Durban Poison rather then the Kush/indica pheno of GSC.
Taste: Very similar to the smell, super sweet in the inhale. The sweetness dominates similar to how Jack will dominates at first, following that the pine and lemon spice kicks in. Once again, this is a specific cut of Cookies.
Effect: A very nice sativa whoop to the head with a good body buzz. Very focused, not overwhelming and nice muscle relaxation.
Looks: Nice light consistency, typical live sugar. Stays nice and compact, compared to some of the "loose" live sugar.
Note: This stuff causes the munchies big time. That is always a plus for me but it is something to be aware of.
First time trying Durban Poison or Durban Cookies. I’ve always been a fan of GSC so decided to give this a try considering my dispensary had a deal on the Live Sugar and I’ve been looking for a nice sativa dominant strain that doesn’t make me too anxious.
Effects: Dabbed a slightly smaller than usual dose. So far I am loving it. Very balanced and relaxing physically, although not debilitating in any way. Mentally very clear-headed and in a great mood. I will probably start doing some cleaning or reading soon. Nice sense of focus with the ability to still multitask. Lesser short term memory loss than many other strains. I am usually very sensitive to sativas as they can increase my anxiety, but Durban Cookies has me depression and anxiety free with no munchies or any negative side effects so far at this dose.
Flavor: The name is slightly misleading as far as flavor goes. Doesn’t taste at all close to GSC, but very tasty in it’s own regard. Smells of fresh laundry, newly squeezed lemons, and Pine-Sol (in a good way). The taste of the live sugar is piney, lemon/citrusy, and light & refreshing.

One of my favorites! I opened the package & got blast by this strong diesel smell. I honestly didn’t think I was going to like this, but to my surprise it was AMAZING! Take up up high awake & energized & then dips you down to this mellow floaty like feeling. Actually tickled my tummy like when you ride a roller coaster & it dips & tickles your tummy, Durban does the same thing. Five stars all the way!
