Karuna Health Foundation - Vancouver
4/15/2015
I have been a member at Karuna for almost 2 years now, and have had mixed experiences. I've come to know much of the staff there and they are all fabulous people who are fun to chat with. The dispensary is beautiful, professional on the outside and chill/fun on the inside. However, it has been very hit and miss with me as far as consistency and quality of product.
I am, above all else, a medical user and have very specific needs. There have been times where I've been given what I was told was an "indica dominant hybrid" which gave me completely adverse effect (I have severe anxiety and cannot handle much sativa at all), after which I checked on Leafly and it said the strain was a Sativa. This has happened to me on multiple occasions, and I have been misinformed as to the strength or effects of certain strains. It seems as though some of the staff give me recommendations based on their personal experiences rather than on facts about the strain itself. I love Karuna, but this is extremely problematic for me as I require consistency and as a medical user it is extremely important for me to know what I am buying.
However, I have consistently found the topical creams and edibles to be of high quality, and I've usually been told if they don't know exactly what's in them.
Overall, I've frequented this dispensary much less due to my medical needs, however I would still recommend this place for people who don't have as specific needs, or for recreational purposes.
