I am fond of Urban Greenhouse. I am really impressed with their product--probably top 3 dispensaries in the Valley.
However, I have found my experience last night to be absolutely horrific. When my budtender asked if I was looking for something in particular I had stated, "Yes, I am here for the PURA bogo $45 half gram deal. What flavors do you have?" She had picked out 2 strain specific Pura tubs at $55!!!!!! So, instead of my purchase being $50, it was $60. Not once was there disclosure that there was a $10 mark up, as I made it very explicit that I had a budget and a point of stating that I had never purchased PURA before and wanted this specific $45 deal. Now, as reading this review, I'm sure many people are thinking, wow, $10--big whoop, or you should have read the menu prices and pay attention. It is a big deal. Take your Hero OG strain that's $20/gram and turn it to $30/gram. That adds up real quick. And it isn't even about the money amount. It is the principle that has me writing this review.
Moving forward, I now know to triple check my order. Even though I had probably said 4-5 times in many different ways that I only wanted to spend a total of $50, not $60. That I was misled into being "upsold" without actually being told that it was $10 more.
My intention of leaving this review is not to just bash, but to inform UG that training your staff properly should be heavily implemented. I talked to a couple of your budtenders and it sounds like you guys do not provide free samples to your employees. I would find this helpful as a patient for them to give me recommendations. My experience there was me telling my budtender what UG HOUSE STRAINS THAT I LIKED. I'm pretty sure that it should be the other way around.
Bottom line:
-educate and provide freebies to your employees so they can give recommendations and feedback.
-don't intentionally deceit patients when "upselling"
