Callie's Cannabis Shoppe (RiNo)

Worst dispo I’ve been to in Colorado hands down. It’s family run and by some greedy out-of-staters that moved here after stealing money from a dying family member for capital. They don’t even smoke but pretend to be providing a “family type” work environment but that’s not at all the case. They overprice everything, will change the THC% on the jars to whatever they think will sell (not what is on the paperwork when we receive said strain from the grower). Instead of giving the budtenders the “samples” from different companies that get sent in, the son of the family ships them to his friends in California. I have worked for five different dispensaries, none less than a year and I was even with this family for over a year because I opened up their Starbuds in Niwat and the Starbuds on Highway 66 near Lyons (so all 3 are owned by that same family, the Craumers). Luckily Denver has so many shops. The son wasn’t supposed to stay in Colorado and manage any of them, but he got legal trouble and now cannot leave the state. You have PLENTY of other options, just do your research before and please don’t support shops like this.

So I’ll admit that I’m an out of town-er, but I smoke often and know what I do and don’t like. This place was specifically recommended as the “place for stoners” and somewhere that I absolutely had to check out. While I often present a challenge for budtenders, I try to ask for recommendations and give them the opportunity to flex their product knowledge and tastes. Admittedly, this place was awesome. Just waiting to be let in, the other customer and I laughed as we heard glowing reviews from a staff member about a particular product. Just from that moment alone, I was already impressed. I care a lot about what I put in my body and to hear staff be that passionate made me excited to see what they recommend. The woman I spoke to there was amazing. She was extremely friendly, warm, and kind and more than happy to provide recommendations. I gave her my criteria and she ran with it. I ended up with such a bigger variety than I thought I would and would honestly just go back again for her recommendations alone. I’m sorry I don’t remember her name but she was super bubbly and talked a lot about how she liked the designs on the resin gummies. One product she gave a glowing review for were the house brand “dog walkers”. I absolutely loved the clamshell package with all of the joints and provided matches organized inside. Despite their small size they pack a punch so be careful smoking more than one at once. Next time I’m in town, this is the first place I’m going and the place I’ll recommend to all of my friends who smoke as well.
