I love this Dispensary. If you're looking for a professional and well thought out dispensary, this is the one you want. It doesn't hurt its located conveniently not just on Andresen & Mill Plain but near a supermarket and other stores you'd necessarily need when me. The interior is fantastic, its large, has the capacity for a crowd and every single budtender is ready with a greeting, smile or a hello and more importantly, willing, which is nice, its not what you expect, its not two stoner buddies in wool caps and faded t-shirts, there's an air of excellence, quality and neatness. Its well thought out. As an example, they have binders they put out on each of the display cases so there are plenty for each to peruse but they update them constantly with pricing and availability of products. I love the surprise of, always, 'hey, this is actually $5-10 cheaper today if you wanna try this'. Its refreshing to go somewhere and have someone tell you what the deals are, it makes me wanna spend more... vs. going to others, although nice, not so well thought out or professional (trust me, I've been to them all). This most recent time I had Jennifer as my Bud Tender and she was awesome. She was all smiles, ready to help and answered all of my questions politely, with etiquette, which is lost on a lot of people, so kudos to you Jennifer!

This place is awesome! Great selection and customer service especially from Sean Bowden! He helped me with all my questions (and there were many) and was able to find me what I needed and the purpose I needed it for. Totally would go back. Go see Sean and he will get you squared away!

I have been here once before, but didn’t buy anything. I was looking for something specific, and they had exactly what I was looking for. I love the setup, and I love that I didn’t immediately get bombarded by someone. The woman who helped me was also super nice and super understanding of what I was looking for. I will definitely be returning frequently!

I visit this store 3-4 times a month and never had a bad experience. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Carrie and Sean B. Know their products and make very informed recommendations. Best shop in town. Love the online ordering for store pickup.

Even though the store was empty I feel like the clerk was trying to rush me through. I tried to take a look at the variety of oil cartridges when he set two on the counter saying "here, which one?" Even after asking a couple questions he just kept pushing two options from the same brand and didn't answer any questions about the other available products. That's not how I expect to be treated as a customer and with so much friendly competition I probably won't be back.

New Vansterdam has improved a lot since first opening. I've always liked the atmosphere there, I'll forgive them for being sparse in their first year of business, not sure why that's such a surprise to people. But they've filled out a lot since first opening. The service is better now. In my most recent visit, I got great advice from one of the employees about finding a strain that worked well for me. Friendly, helpful, suggested a lot of strains. He wasn't bullshitting either, he clearly had actually smoked the product. Again, let's be fair, it's going to take a little time before the employees really get to know their product. Quality has always been good in my opinion. I have had iffy experiences with Main Street Marijuana early on where I paid double street price and got half the quality (though those folks have improved A LOT too.) At New Vansterdam I've always got great weed. Not super premium every time, but always great stuff. And you can get premium if you pay for it. Finally and most importantly, price. Everyone's prices are way better than they used to be. In the beginning, I paid around $40 or $50 for 2g of alright bud. Just last week I walked out with 2g of nice Jack Herer for $30. It gets a lot cheaper than that too if you're willing to pick up whatever's on sale. I also bought 2g of Blue Dream for $10. Only about 13% THC, but the high was still great if you smoked a little more. If I do the math, that works out to better value for the same prices folks were paying on the black market. If you haven't been to a recreational retailer recently, go back and try again. Things have improved and prices have indeed leveled out as expected. Sure you can still pay $25 a gram if you want something specific and premium, but the inexpensive options are there, and the quality is still good. In my opinion, buying legal is now a totally viable option, and New Vansterdam is a great place to do it.

The best part that I like is everyone is so happy and friendly, including the security guard. One in particular name Josh. He's very friendly, knowledgeable, and checks everyone (that I've noticed) for ID.

I always enjoy my visit to this location in Vancouver. Max Ma has always been my go-to bud expert and I followed him from Main Street East because he knows the business well.

Love this place! Super selection with a very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful staff.

The store was nice enough. It was my first time visiting but they were offering shake at 15 bucks less than my usual spot. So I went and picked it up, got home to find there is no shake in it at all. It's 100% trim. Then when I called, they were very polite but kept saying trim and shake are the same thing. No. No they aren't at all. Plus the dispensaries around them are selling real shake. I can't do anything with this garbage, I have laryngospasms and it's too harsh to smoke and I am missing part of my digestive tract and can't digest edibles. That's why it's important to do good business, because your customers rely on it. Disappointed doesn't begin to describe how hosed makes my disabled state of being.

Incredible, quality selection! Knowledgeable and friendly staff. The only downside for me was the location was a little too busy; it's more-so a recreational retail shop than a small boutique. If you don't care about a boutique shop, then this place is perfect.

I have been frequenting this establishment since the first day it opened its doors in July 2014. Thank the bud gods the high prices, limited availability, and ignorant budtenders are a thing of the past, as they had promised. Now I come here for the Refine extracts, mainly the gram buckets. Thanks largely to the close relationship that New Vansterdam, and specifically their buyer/budtender/extract-aficionado Chris, have fostered with ReFine, N.V.'s selection is diverse and the price-point comes in well under the other local ReFine distributors. Another added bonus-as a medical patient I get an extra 10% discount. New Vansterdam is modern, clean, well-stocked, and competitively priced. N.V. also features close and plentiful parking, situated off of a well-lit, easily accessible, multi-lane Boulevard (Mill Plain) with the most convenient hours in Vancouver (8am-11pm at the time of this review). A shout-out to Budtender Taylor. She was knowledgeable, courteous, presentable, and helpful, as well as willing to check waiting stock for available product.

Awesome service and products.

I've been to New Vansterdam several times and I continue to fall more in love with the staff and products. Every person I've encountered here has been helpful, kind, non-intimidating, and friendly. For example, tonight, I had lovely conversation with the doorman/bouncer, Jacob, before even getting all the way inside. (If you see this, thank you for brightening my evening, Jacob!) Then, I was dutifully assisted by Cece, who guided me to the right products for a friend of mine suffering from a serious illness and treatment for said illness. I don't mind paying a bit more for great products and truly wonderful service. I want to be lifelong friends with every person I've met who works at New Vansterdam. They're all wonderful.
