Choom Cannabis in Niagara Falls opened mid-June, joining Ontario’s growing list of legal retailers in the province.

Inspired by Choom Gang—a famous group of buds who loved to smoke cannabis in 1970s Honolulu—Choom Cannabis all about inspiring “good times with good friends.”

Lottery winner Lisa Bigioni owns and manages this Choom location, bringing executive sales experience to the floor paired with her husband’s previous experience in retail.

The Vancouver-based brand has a heightened focus on cannabis education, apparent on the educational boards and infographics placed around the store.

Vibe

The first thing you might notice is the living, breathing plant wall hanging over the cashiers in the back, lending the space a natural ethos and setting the tone for green discovery.

Clusters of ivy, ficus, dracaena, and palm oversee your shopping experience.

Instead of blacking out their windows, as they must due to visibility regulations, Choom went with a Querkus oak window covering that still lets a bit of natural light spill into the room.

Some European oak continues on the strain walls while wooden desks, furniture, and glass display cases tie the whole space together.

The centre of the room hosts a few couches and resting areas where customers can hang out and make decisions, while all four walls provide strain and product information.

Customer Service

You can strike up a conversation with any one of Choom’s knowledgeable staff, all trained as cannabis sommeliers to ensure clients get expert advice and service. You can find them easily; they’re all wearing seafoam staff shirts, hinting at that mahalo mentality.
