Moonmen LLC — Moon Pie Pre-Roll (Indica)
Product Overview
This review covers the Moonmen “Moon Pie” pre-roll flower, purchased from Smoke-U Smoke Shop in Davie, Florida. The product was selected primarily because it appeared fresher than other available options, many of which showed visible signs of age or questionable kief coatings. The Moon Pie stood out as the cleanest and most well-kept option on the shelf.
Packaging & Labeling
The Moon Pie comes in a clear, see-through jar with a black cap and a dark, low-contrast label consistent with Moonmen’s overall packaging style. The label features a Moon Pie graphic on a black background. While the design is cohesive and becomes appealing after closer inspection, the dark-on-dark color scheme reduces immediate shelf impact. No COA or lab information was visible at point of purchase, and the product no longer appears on the company website, making age and batch verification unclear.
Visual & Physical Inspection
The pre-roll itself was well constructed. It was evenly packed, properly shaped, and showed no signs of lumpiness or canoe risk. RAW unbleached paper was used, with no visible glue lines or excess adhesive. The flower was visible through the paper and appeared consistently ground, not dusty or uneven. Moisture level leaned slightly dry, but not to a degree that compromised smokability or flavor.
Aroma
Upon opening the container, aroma was very faint, presenting as lightly earthy with minimal terpene expression. In-hand aroma remained muted, offering little definition. Once lit, the scent shifted to an earthy, grassy cannabis profile reminiscent of early THCa flower. As the session progressed, ambient smoke carried a standard cannabis smell with mild skunk and a noticeable ash note, similar to cigarette smoke despite no tobacco being present.
Flavor Profile
Initial inhales were grassy, herbal, and earthy, closely matching the aroma. As smoking continued and oils began coating the tongue, a distinct chocolate flavor emerged. This chocolate note was clear, intentional, and strongly aligned with the Moon Pie name and imagery, resembling chocolate milk or chocolate pastry rather than raw cocoa. Toward the end of the session, chocolate remained present on the lips and tongue, balanced by a light ash finish. The aftertaste lingered as mild chocolate layered with earthy, herbal, grassy notes.
Burn & Draw
The pre-roll burned evenly throughout the session with no canoeing or need for correction. A crown-style fold at the tip, similar to RAW’s technique, likely contributed to the consistent burn. The ember stayed lit longer than very fresh flower but extinguished naturally when set down, similar to a cigar but on a shorter timeline. Draw resistance was ideal—not tight or loose—and remained consistent even after a slight accidental bend near the tip. Smoke texture was smooth and slightly oily, with minimal coughing for an experienced smoker. Ash flaked off easily, reinforcing that the flower leaned dry.
