Ascend Cannabis - Downtown Springfield

It's a good thing the atmosphere is pleasant because you'll spend a good 45 minutes to an hour there, even if picking up an express order. Because it tends to get crowded waiting around for S-L-O-W service, I took off a star. The staff seems like they're probably really trying but are very poorly trained. Prices are the highest on most items, second highest on a few, of all the central IL dispensaries, and seem to be ever-increasing. If they actually have what's on the menu (other than single grams or shake), get it while the two units they ordered of that item are still in stock, but expect to find that the menu doesn't quite match inventory ever. I've been an MMJ patient for a couple years now, and HCI used to be my go-to. Now it's my last resort.

Gave me the wrong strain of wax. I use cannabis as medicine so this is like going to Walgreens and getting the wrong prescription but they refused to refund me for the purchase or even just give me the product I had actually ordered. Never again.

I see my review was removed...? You allow positive reviews that personally name staff but remove the negative? I hope you fired Nick, he was RUDE. HCI lost patient(s) because of him, along with having to always wait. Bye HCI

Pathetic Looks like the staff are writing their own reviews now (see review below). I guess that’s one way to get a positive review. First visit today. Bad experience. No parking. Limited selection. High prices. Checking out took forever. Employees were nice but I’m going back to Maribus.

Switching to Maribus. Apparently, HCI was purchased by Ascend (from Boston?). Prices are up, deals are gone, selection is poor and employees seem miserable. This used to be a fun place too go. Now it just seems sad

Could use better parking but it’s downtown so kind of hard . Everyone there is eager to help and very nice . Awesome products and sales .

Everyone is cool in this dispensary, i love it. I had use express order a couple times now and I think it needs to be a little bit faster, thats why is call “express order”, Next time I will go in with the budtenders, besides that I love HCI Alternatives

How can I make an educated purchase if there's no strain information or amount of THC and CBD? They have been telling me for 2 years that they are fixing it. Why even have express ordering if no one there 2 tell you anything about the product that you've funded on the backs of the sick and poor!! Girl on phone rude. Won't be back!!

I think they need more sales. The other dispensaries do.

Have been coming here for almost 4 months now. EVERY member of the staff is so warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and inviting. They learn your name, your likes and dislikes. No matter how bad my day had been, I have NEVER walked out of there without a smile on my face. I always look forward to my visits to HCI ALTERNATIVES. (NOT only for what I walk out with in the little green bag)

I love this place for the most part. Great service great staff but the prices are ridiculous for being open for 2 years now. Edibles are too pricey and not strong. They want you to buy the lowest amounts paying ridiculous prices. If you want bigger amounts they have it but shake. Like anyone wants shake. Dont pee on me and tell me it's raining. You guys need better vendors or ones less greedy. This is why big business needs to stay away from cannabis. It's all greed no smart business people anymore.

The staff is great. I have been going to HCI for almost 2 years now. I can say the last few months the selection for flower is horrible and when you have Chronic pain and there is nothing in the flower that you need. Very bad

Online menu is rarely accurate, and prices are currently going up while selection goes down. Staff are hit or miss. Some are really exceptional, some have minimal product knowledge at best, and one is a rude little boy. After about 20 very local trips to HCI, I started visiting other regional dispensaries, and am glad I did. I've saved a ton of money (even driving many more miles) and had access to items I could not purchase at HCI.

I've received nothing but professionalism from the staff. They've helped acclimate me to the liberating possibilities of cannabis care.

I really can't say anything bad about HCI or the staff. Their all very knowledgeable and friendly. Express is awesome!!! Quick I highly recommend them. You can't go wrong.
