Chesacanna

Chesacanna was the first dispensary I excitedly decided on, for my first medical marijuana expertise experience. Walking into Chesacanna, I was calmly greeted by a sweet friendly face. She welcomed me excitedly, knowing I was a first time patient. I was of course nervous, but all anxiety went away as I realized the process was not intimidating DUE TO the overly welcoming and patient service by the staff that I was receiving directly upon arrival. Once the minute-long paper work was filled out, I was sent to the waiting room. The waiting room is very professional and neat, much like a doctors office. The waiting room has advertisements on their walls and tables for the staff picks and discount of the day, updated daily. So, while you wait you are able to read through what is happening that specific day and the deals that are going on. While waiting, patients are able to walk through their wellness center. Having this attached to the dispensary-literally just through a door way (and you dont even have to be a Mmp to walk through the wellness center btw) is very convenient because as I awaited my turn (never longer than 5 minutes depending on the time of day, weekend, etc,) I was able to ask about CBD and the benefits of it, while also having eye candy all around me considering the options for small gifts for other people even if they aren't interested in Medical marijuana. The smoking devices are abundant in there, and depending on what you are looking for, the staff will direct you through asking questions and being genuinely interested in furthering your health. Once a staff member called my name, which I heard in the wellness shop, I walked over and was welcomed into the actual medical marijuana dispensary. The very large room smelled fresh and their was plenty of space to breathe and not feel anxious as a first time user. My first bud tender experience was with a woman named Marni. She was so incredibly knowledgeable, patient and non judgmental. Truly, I do not even feel that worthy when I walk into my general practitioners office. As we spoke about my issues of anxiety, she recommended starting at a smaller dose and of course working my way up from there. I mentioned I wanted to smoke and she thoroughly and articulately went through all the strains and what to expect and recommended through her expertise. Its been one year, and I frequent this dispensary once a week, sometimes a few times. And even though I may feel like I am a bit much sometimes, they never show attitude or judgement, they only show care, the best quality of service, and a loyalty to you as a person who is just simply looking for mental ease and physical pain relief in your everyday life.

I usually don’t go into local dispensaries. As one of the primary uses of my MMCC is to help manage through anxiety. I will say the first most positive thing I experienced is that the door isn’t locked when you enter the main part of the building. At other dispensaries there is often times a call button or a locked door with limited signage that would dismay me even attempting to go in. When I came up to the door. I could easily come in and was greeted at the front counter by the sweetest lady ever. I don’t know if she sensed that I was anxious but she was a doll. She answered all my questions and got me registered. She was detailed and informative. I didn’t feel patronized or belittled for asking any of my questions. Once I was registered. She “buzzed” be through to the waiting room. Now I say buzzed. But it wasn’t a buzz. It was so quiet. That had been another deterrent at previous dispensaries. The buzzer would buzz and either the door wouldn’t open or I’d pull at the wrong time. Someone would get frustrated and it made me feel even more anxious. She just said to wait a second. I heard a little click and saw a green light and was good to go. The waiting area is so spacious. The signage for their weekly deals is great! It’s so quiet! I had ordered online because I usually do curbside. So my order was ready. I was called back and asked if it was my first time there. I got asked if I wanted a tour which I turned down as I was getting a bit anxious. No ones fault. I was given a quick run down of the point system and had all my questions answered timely, politely and respectfully. I had some questions about a banger that I had gotten and they directed me to the shop lol right outside next to them in a little space that is absolutely amazing. I was able to get two new bangers and have a very quiet informative conversation with the young man working in there. I was told that if there were any problems with the bangers that I could bring them back. I had also received a ton of freebies for being new. The tray is amazing. I never knew I needed one until I got it lol. All in all a fantastic experience. When I am on this side of town, I will definitely stop by to grab anything I might need! And, I will most likely go inside.

At a time when virtually every other Baltimore area dispensary has sold out to the international chains, Chesacanna remains a locally owned and independent leader at the top of the local market. Great deals, a uniformly friendly and knowledgeable staff, ample parking, efficient ordering and pickup procedures, and the best product selection in the area -- including an abundant supply of balanced THC/CBD products -- combine to make this the "go to" dispensary in the Baltimore area. My hope is that the opening of the recreational market in Maryland will not alter this, and that medical cannabis patients will continue to receive the magnificent service at Chesacanna that we have come to expect and rely upon.

I think this is one of the better dispensaries I have visited for medical cannabis. The staff is professional, and they generally carry a variety of products. However, it may not be worth the effort for me to travel there because they are discontinuing the very helpful and beneficial Healer drops that so many MEDICAL users rely upon for relief. This is a big mistake and evidence that the recreational market has overtaken and side-lined medical users. While all of you guys are lining up just to get high, the rest of us are being deprived of valuable products. I regret voting to legalize marijuana for this reason and because I have to smell the stench of cannabis in my living space, in spite of lease agreements which prohibit it.
