I picked up my Pax Era battery and a Bloom Farms pod of Granddaddy Purple. The first hit I took with the device tasted better than any pen-style cartridge I'd tried before (except maybe Brite Labs' Tangie, which is amazing). The Pax Era is easier to load and unload than regular pens, it offers tastier hits, and, most importantly, it allows users total control of their wick temperature and session size. I would never go back to my previous batteries, one made by Select and the other by Heavy Hitters. From now on, Pax Era is the standard for cannabis vaping.
Caveat: if you enjoy being sedated, bump this review up to a full 5 stars.
My first hit of GDP put an instant smile on my face. Purply fruit flavors followed by a quick rush of euphoria invite you to relax and enjoy what's right in front of you. There's something very gentle about the way the high starts out in your head and, like a blanket of warm honey, it oozes down your entire body. After an hour or so, you're in slow motion. If you want to be relaxed, stunned, and sedated, this is your purple jam.
I'd be remiss if I didn't weigh in on the bright citrusy flavors and delicious high of Tangie. Yes, most folks already know about this strain and its balanced high--its nearly as beautifully balanced as Blue Dream--but I still want to weigh in with my two thumbs up. Juicy terpenes guide you into a nice, mostly-heady high that never overwhelms or exhausts you.
This is fine Sativa. I hunted down Durban Poison because I read that it is one of the only pure Sativas available these days. However, unlike other reviewers have commented, I didn't feel uplifted or especially happy after vaping Bloom Farms' Durban Poison. I felt energized but somewhat paranoid, with no cheerful effects. Not to mention, the flavor reminds me of dried-up shake.
