Vanilla Kush

I really like this strain. I am predominantly an Indica vaper. This is primarily for medicinal purposes, specifically insomnia caused by anxiety. However, since I started using cannabis to medicate this, I have started to enjoy it as a general relaxant. Vanilla Kush fits the bill for me. My main medicine is CBD Critical Mass. It reminds me of it in terms of effect. Body stone, couch lock, but a little clearer - so in smaller amounts I can use it to relax while watching TV at night time. It does help with my sleep and getting to that winding down stage. However - my personal plant doesn't really seem to match other reviews in terms of flavour profile. This may have been my own fault. This is only my 4th of 5th grow. When it had fully cured in jars and ready to smoke, each time I popped that Kilner jar, I was hit with a smell that was more pungent, earthy and a little spicy. This did mellow over time, as I worked my way down the jars over the months. The taste for me was more savoury, but I did get a very mild vanilla undertone. Anyway, since I am mainly a medical user, the taste/smell doesn't really affect me much. I just need it to wind me down. Good for turning off, locking into your seat, setting eyes at half mast and settling in for a snooze.

Lemon Haze

7/14/2016
The flavour is phenomenal. It's like tangy lemon, and citrus-fresh. Unfortunately, it is not the strain for me. Some people will love it as it can feel euphoric, tingly and with butterflies in your stomach. However, for people similar to me, it may not be for you. I suffer from anxiety and mild depression. It plays up on these a little. I noticed when the buzz set it I also started to feel tensed up, uneasy and quite anxious. For me, its too heady like that. It made me feel strangely excited at times, more also nervy. For that reason, I did not find it a relaxing experience. Another small plus for some; maybe it was just me, but it definite awakes the sexual appetite! ie it might make ya horny! lol Good for some, not for others. I'm way more of an Indica guy, so I prefer the mellow that melts you to the sofa.

Blueberry

7/13/2016
This is the first non-CBD strain I've grown and tried. I only started growing medicine for my anxiety and insomnia about 2 years ago. So far, they've all been CBD strains. Before that, I only experimented in my youth and had a lot of mixed reactions to cannabis. Most of the time it would make me panic and paranoid. The CBD strains I grew were very different from how I remembered it. I attributed this to CBD - but I wanted to research more into other regular strains. I chose Blueberry from Dutch Passion as my first for this task, as it seems from the CBD strains previous I grew, that Indica is more my kind of thing. I wanted to try a well known, common Indica with good reviews which showed uses for anxiety and insomnia. This all pointed further towards this strain. This was also the first Auto-Flowering plant I've ever grown. THE REVIEW: Now that the introduction and background is out of the way. I am pleased to say that my first venture outside of a product sold as a CBD plant was still enjoyable. I still didn't get paranoid or panicky, and it was still very good for my medical needs, by helping me get to sleep. The initial vape hit offered very pleasant flavours. Unlike previous citrus varieties I was used to, this one definitely have more berry undertones. It had a slightly juicy vibe to it. I have to say, I did notice a slight euphoria that I found stronger in comparison to the milder breeds I am used to. Then again, being a light user and relatively new to it all - I should be considered a lightweight. At first it caught me by surprise and as I became very couchlocked I momentarily got a little worried I wouldn't be able to handle it. Definitely a little more fluttery feeling compared to the previous CBD strains I used. However, my worries soon melted away and I fell into a pleasant daze that distracted me from any stress or worries I had. It effectively allowed my brain to switch off sufficiently to relax. After a few more vapes I went to bed - feeling a little unbalanced on the way! I found it mildly cerebral which did concern me at first. I began to have that feeling that I may not fall asleep due to racing thoughts. Another vape hit and my body melted further into bed and my mind eventually distracted in thoughts, drifted off to sleep. SUMMARY: Tasty flavours of berry and sweetness. Couchlock heaviness good for insomnia with a surrounding uplifting and mildly cerebral accompanying effect.

Nordle

8/31/2015
This was my first time trying any kind of cannabis in over 10 years. I only experimented occasionally in my youth, for a year or two when I first when to college. My experiences were very mixed, but for the most part, I didn't like it. I decided to start researching cannabis use again as I've developed terrible insomnia which is brought on by anxiety attacks at night. Also, I do enjoy having a drink, but I'd like to cut back on alcohol and have something more healthy for recreational use. Anyway, all my research pointed towards high CBD, low THC strains. I used to get panic attacks, racing heart, paranoia etc very easily with cannabis, and thats why I stopped. I was very apprehensive but was very interested in trying it again, as I had a few good experiences too. I just needed to find the right strain. Nordle, being indica, was said to be good for relaxing and sleep. I had also read it was very mild in general, which also appealed to me. I bought my Nordle from CBD Crew as they had lab tested their product to prove it was indeed high in CBD. I finally bought a vaporiser and tried some. It was a very enlightening experience. (In my previous experience as a youth, people smoked joints mixed with tobacco - I don't smoke tobacco so it probably added to the dizzy and nausea). When I took my first draw of the vaporiser, I was feeling a little worried how I'd react. Because of this - as the effects started to set in, I was a little on edge and tense. However, as I continued to take more, I realised that it wasn't getting any worse, and that it was my own mind being reluctant to let go. I began to relax and had a really good time once I realised it was my own mind, and it actually wasn't making me freak out. It made me feel quite sedated, with some heavy couch lock as I pushed further to see how much I could vape. My eye lids grew heavy. I vaped about half a gram and was feeling very floaty, a little spacey, with heavy eye lids, a little couch lock, dry mouth, and my appetite was increased. It's hard to describe, but I still felt very lucid and self aware of how I was feeling, yet at the same time, concentration was difficult and reading simple sentences on the TV guide was a struggle. It requires the user to allow it to take over, and allow yourself to zone out and turn off. Its for winding down and relaxing for sure. Considering it was my first time, and my tolerance is presumably extremely low, I was surprised I could handle a half gram all to myself and remain feeling calm. It would suggest to me that this is a mild, mellow strain. Not racy or too trippy, with a mostly body stone. Its hard to know if it worked for my medical requirements, helping me to sleep, because it was my first time and I was trying to relax my mind. When I went to bed I was worried that I didn't feel sedated enough to sleep. My mind was thinking about many things, and I kept losing my train of thought.... however, somewhere during these deep thoughts, I forgot about time, and drifted off to sleep. Perhaps the more used to it I get, the more it will relax me and help me sleep - we'll see. As for taste - I was VERY surprised. It was my first experience of using a vaporiser. I bought an Arizer Air. I had read many reviews in which people discuss all the different flavours of cannabis. I thought that as someone not used to it, it may be too subtle to notice. Instead, when I took my first vape, I could taste a fairly strong flavour of lemon, citrus and pine, with some earthy under tones. I noticed that when it was nearly time to re-fill with fresh bud, it had began to taste more of biscuit, wood and earth. I'd say this strain is good for beginners. When vaped it seems to build up very slowly, but you can take enough to make the effects as strong as you like. Very manageable. No paranoia or anxiety, no dizziness or nausea. Much more of a body stone than a mind stone, but it does dull the thought process. Mellow and relaxing, good for night time. Tasted very nice for those into pine and lemon/citrus.
