Jean Guy reviews
Okay get that, i was 16 years old and this was my first ever solo experience smoking weed. My friend (experienced stoner at the time) gave me this full 1g joint of Jean Guy for my birthday. He told me to be careful with it since it hit pretty strong. Decided to smoke it the next day but didn't know where to smoke it and was a little bit paranoid bout it since i didn't wanted to be caught since it was my first time. Decided to smoke it in my house cause parents was out. Smoked half of it, thought it didn't hit so i go to the bathroom, see that my eyes were super red (prolly not that much, i was just really high LMAO) Realized after that, that i was in fact super really geeked.
I spent the next hour derealizing and looking at the wall. It was quite an experience. I never felt like that in my entire life. I started to get really paranoid and my heart really started to pound fast which i didn't know how to deal with it since i was a newbie. I deal with a lot of anxiety so naturally i started panicking and finaly i had a panic attack.
All i remember after that is that i slept it off and woken up aroused.
Moral of the story, be careful if you're a newbie and an anxious person. This strain is really good if you're a sativa enthusiast and really does the job for getting that sativa high.
Had the opportunity to try it out again many years later and it was pretty fun socially, Jean Guy really put you in a mood and it can be kinda overwhelming if you're with people who aren't in the same mood that Jean Guy puts you in. It made me creative and talkative but sometimes it ain't the best cause you may realize during the sesh that when you're talking you're actually cooking nothing and you should just laugh it off. Music is really good with this strain, im an artist so i actually love things that puts me in the "mood' but creating things can be tricky since it gets you really high.
Anyway i think there's better sativa strains but it still an experience.
Jean-Guy, hello, bon jour! I picked up two grams of Jean-Guy from a small dispensary on the way home after work. This is a new strain to me. I am new to medical marijuana and am steadily (slowly) learning about the many amazing strains available.
Pouring the contents onto the table reveals a dozen small but mighty buds. The smell, lemony with an underlying earthy pot smell I love. The buds are tight and a bit spongy, like I prefer. The colour is a thing of beauty too, dusty green, with a splash of purple/blue thrown in for the price of admission. Looking through the 30X magnifier, the buds are even more impressive, with some of the smallest buds literally covered in trichomes!
I ground and rolled a joint, took one long haul, held it for a second or two and exhaled. Nice. It was smooth, not harsh at all. Taste was great, but what struck me most was the buzz! A head buzz for sure; not so much a tightness as a lightness, right behind the eyes. I savoured the rest of the smoke, noting how nice it was outside for a cold, East-Coast January evening.
I came inside, having already planned on writing my first strain review on Jean-Guy. When I got to the table I was already smiling! My lips were pursed upwards, feeling like I had been told a great and wonderful secret. Jean-Guy! I love this strain! I have been listening to music throughout the whole process of this writing, and that has taken on a life of it’s own as well!
I am feeling as good as I have in a while, motivated, focused and, now, two hours later, quite hungry!
Jean-Guy. Try it – I think you’ll like it!
Jean Guy was on the OCS website for only a few days, probably because it was by far the cheapest strain I seen listed there at only $7.11 CAD a gram. At first I kept looking, as I've never been a big fan of this strain and even at this price I wasn't interested. But then a thought struck me. Why not see what kind of deals can be found in the bargain bin. I'm reviewing strains for the greater good and doesn't that mean trying a few strains that I normally wouldn't? This might be someones only option, especially if price is a concern.
So I did it. Got 3.5 grams produced by Good Supply, which seems to be the bargain brand of Aphria. I was prepared for the worst, as in prepared to smoke this so that you don't have to.
The flower arrived in plastic/foil pouch, and you know what? All legal Cannabis should be packaged this way instead of the typical plastic jars I've gotten otherwise. I think this pouch is intended to be resealable in a zip lock fashion, but something might be wrong with the package I got. Or maybe I'm wrong.
Moving on the flower, it looked homegrown. It actually looked like something I might grow myself - if I ever managed to successfully grow a plant. But you know what, presentation isn't everything. What really counts is the effect, especially if someone needs this for medicinal reasons. It's scent was actually more promising, nothing too notable but stronger than I expected after appearance of the flower. I proceeded to roll up a joint and then took a nice walk in the woods. it smoked well, a nice even burn with grey/white ash. I expect this of any strain worthwhile so that's one baseline it passed. The effect was what I expected, very ordinary and unremarkable, but this makes it a good strain to smoke if you got stuff that you need to get done. So it's average at best and that's the rating I give it. But if appearances are important to you then don't bother with Good Supply's Jean Guy.
This shit will get you high af. Me and my buddy smoked some of this and we couldn’t stop laughing. Insanely euphoric strain, would be great for parties or social settings as it has you talking about anything and everything. The munchies do kick in when coming down off the high. If you have too much it can have indica-like affects that leave you spaced out staring at nothing, but it won’t cause couch-lock if you have the right dose. I get paranoid when smoking but never felt that way with this strain. It will have your mind full of thoughts however, so probably not the best if looking to relax.
Jean Guy from Good Supply presents a bold, spicy, and woody profile that stands out immediately. The smell was a bit stronger than Mandarin Cookies but slightly less clear, offering a complex nose of earthy wood and subtle fruity spice. The buds were massive, loosely structured, and heavily glossed with trichomes — an impressive sight, though less dense than expected.
The flavour leaned hot and spicy, mirroring its smell but with a touch more bite. While the high eventually brought happiness and euphoria, it took about ten minutes to kick in and came with a surprising twist: rather than easing into rest, Jean Guy actually caused insomnia, making it a poor choice for winding down. The effects lasted a solid four hours, providing physical relaxation but also leaving a jittery, restless undertone.
Highlights: Bold spicy flavour, long-lasting high, but better suited for active times than for sleep.
Score: 6.83/10

🤨🌿 First, I gotta say my review is a lil biaised cuz I'm from Quebec City... Second, I gotta say mmmh you little citrus hiding in that tasty boreal forest smoke you are tastylicious, yes you...and this is some East coast classic flavor. Really not the Master Kush type of taste and smell. Nore is it the diesel type. Just fresh and citrussy. 🌱Anyway,...with my man Jean-Guy Leblanc, it's all about The BUZZ. 😃🌿
Changes yer perspective on what you were thinking before smoking..if it did'nt change completely what you were thinking 360°. Does make yer tought process more /in yer face/ as Marijuana usually does.. BUT does not punch yer brainz off, its more creative to me anyway. Colors are even nicer than they are usually with weed. Good giggling type weed and I find it has a "positive" vibe, if that is actually possible.. A little on the funky psychedelic side too... Nice to smoke before personal work ,music ,yard work ,art in general. Soooo...guess its all good when the buzz is concerned. A fresh buzz dat gets you high in a funky positive way is kinda what this Quebec Buddy's all about 🌞🌿
Gotta love the buds. Light green. Lime green. Pale but saturated colors...with the lil roots of army dark green leaves here and there. Orange hairs.. gotta love'em. They actually look exactly as they get you high, they be FR£$H😘🌿

smells like a kush, hits like a haze. usually I have a pretty high tolerance (even indicas in their 30s don't make me sleepy or lazy), but this one gives a bit of a tingle
This weed. Damn. Dim the lights and it's one of favourite highs.
It IS very strong, but it covers you softly like a big blanket. Takes away all anxiety and focusses on how your body feels. It's got a rhythm, so it's the perfect album for walking around dancing and listening to a new album. Or just hanging out and being in the moment, and not thinking about anything else. It makes everything easier. It does dumb you down though, and keeping up with a complicated story will become very hard.
Very dry and usually makes me cough, but I have weak lungs, so take that how you want.
