Hindu Kush reviews
I grew this in my garden this year. Harvested, cured and popped the first jar open last week while wrapping presents. Thank goodness I don’t have anything hard to wrap. It allowed me to hyper-focus but I was in slow motion. No frustration of obsessive thinking just doing. This was the early post-smoke period, so get your tasks done before the hammer comes down. The intense, deep relaxation hits you hard like entering a warm home on a very cold evening. It wraps you up like a newborn baby, soothes all your aches and pains (I have lupus and felt no pain)and it gives you the ability to relax, breathe and feel. Sleep enters gradually but with a firm grip. I work on my feet 13+ hours 4 days a week. This is my new go-to post-shift smoke. My adrenaline is usually still going so it has allowed me to wind down as well as eat before I recover for the next long a$$ night. Fučķ capitalism, grow your own weed!
On the growing side, it was very easy to maintain. Out of the four plants I grew, this one was the easiest. It was short, branchy and bushy so it would do well indoors. (I grew outdoors.) It was hot and dry and this plant loves the heat given its genetics. Medium feeder and not too funky on the final smells. Crazy trichomes and is super sticky after a good long cure. I will need to soak my grinder in some alcohol.
Grower Tips: Try to let your fresh weed cure for at least 6 weeks, use amber jars and store them completely away from light. I use an old duffel bags with old sheets wrapped around my jars.
Yield for one plant was 254 g. On the low end but we were moving across states, needed to put the house on the market and unfortunately our plants could have impacted the sale of our home even though it’s legal in that state! I grew it from a clone but plan to get some seeds and grow it indoors. It is a mainstay for my medicine cabinet. Grow your own, know where it came from and medicate yourself!

This is a strain I genuinely believe was given to us by the divine. Where to begin...
I suffer from chronic pain, migraines, a spinal cord injury, depression, insomnia and undiagnosed bipolar disorder too. Not one single condition is left untreated by Hindu kush. The flavours are a sort of woody/earthy taste with a slight spicy-ish (if that makes sense!? 😂)
I consume either by rolling with tobacco, bongs and occasionally a vapouriser if I'm out in public and need to medicate. Personally I'd say bong rips of this are the most effective and it will send you to the moon on a funny high, you'll have a strong couch lock so get comfortable with any drinks (unfortunately dry/cotton mouth is bad with this strain) and you'll have a great smoke. It's a sleepy strain and high too, but focused with a floating head high too, your head will be on a swivel if you give in to the high. My missus has also said how it makes me easier to deal with too as I'm less annoying, though I have no idea what she means by that...👀
It's not an easy strain to find, though definitely worth getting if you've never tried it before. You'll be better getting double the amount you plan on buying, I guarantee.

Like a few others have mentioned, I find Hindu to be an entirely different type of indica. I don't get couchlock at all with this... It almost makes my body feel light and floaty, not heavy and tired. Best thing about Hindu Kush, for me, is it slows down my brain enough to let me focus. I can sit and watch an entire movie, read a book, cook dinner, etc, without reaching for my phone or flipping channels. It balances me out. On the other hand, my partner finds the strain uncomfortable. She's not sure if anxiety causes the uncomfortable or if the uncomfortable feeling causes anxiety, but regardless, she gets both when smoking Hindu Kush. I think this is one you'll have to try for yourself.
Really good strain for pain and relaxation and sleep. I have an infection in my tooth and amazingly it took the inflammation and pain away. Plus it gets you nice and stoned for couple hours and it couch lock you. The batch I got anyway. Has a cheesy skunky smell and taste but add in a hint of lemon or citrus. Give it a 5/5. My store has a really good grower. I got Hindu skunk a few months ago and very similar so if you come across either the kush or the skunk don’t pass it up.
First and only time I ever smoked this strain was an entire experience unto itself. Granted, I was new to smoking and had a low tolerance but nonetheless this stuff was on another level. Smoked a single bowl by myself while sitting in a field next to a river and after a few minutes I swear it felt like I became a Buddha, sitting cross-legged in the grass and simply enjoying being alive and fully present, just existing in the moment.
It was perfect: the sun was beaming down on me through the trees, bees were buzzing all around me in search of flowers, and the sound of the running water trickling & bubbling nearby became a hypnotizing cacophony of liquid soundwaves crashing & tumbling together through the invisible fluid medium of the surrounding air. I became one with my environment and the ground I sat upon, rooted down to the earth like a tree. I could sense the life energy of all the plants/small bugs/woodland critters in the vicinity, like my mind could almost reach out and touch theirs.
This pronounced sense of oneness & expanded awareness only grew the longer I sat there, and even remained for a while during the walk back to campus. It definitely felt like my mind had been momentarily elevated, and no other strain has ever given me that same specific feeling of intense interconnected with everything (only psychedelics have been able to reproduce & surpass that feeling for me).
Always hard to choose a favorite strain, if not impossible in this modern age of cannabis. With limitless possibilities of the dankest buds at my fingertips it's easy at any given time to say the last one toked was my fave. Lucky & grateful❤ Hindu Kush is in top three and constant weekly rotation thanks to Grasslands dispensary who deserve a shoutout for beautiful flower, beautiful price. This flower is unique in every aspect from the spicy fennel taste on inhale that is exotic bringing an alert sharpness to mind. The buzz is immediate like a warm blanket wrapping around body. Comfort all over body with that relaxed indica smooth chocolate/coffee-ish exhale with touch of sweet that is distinctly Kush to me. There is nothing like this strain being very distinct with a perfect combo of high THC coupled with mystical terpenes that bring enlightenment. Great weed for meditation, pain relief, good rest, lots of sex, creative ventures, and Thai food. All that plus the flower is so beautiful if gazed upon or played with almost every color can be found. Need I say more?❤
I prefer the sativa/diesel strains for the most part, but I grabbed some of this bad boy as I actually sometimes suffer from stress and nausua. Even though this strain isn’t my usual type, I HAD to give it 5 stars because it delivered EXACTLY what it promised.
At first not much really happened (I’m a daily smoker and I’ll admit my tolerance is through the roof) but then it hit.
This one’s def a creeper kids, start slow. At first I felt some stress being taken away and that was it.
Then I laid down with my dog and put one of my fav movies on and BOOM no spins, nausea or anything. I was relaxed as all hell and nothing actually mattered other than the movie and my bed. I wouldn’t make this a nightly smoke, but on those rare occasions you wanna shut off, relax and recharge…. You’d been insane not to try this.
Even as a daily smoker this did the trick, so once again, tread lightly if you are a novice.
Hindu Kush is fantastic! Picked up a beautiful oz from Takoma Wellness in D.C.. Alternative Solutions consistently produces some excellent flower.
This strain is a knockout. The clear head it gives you coupled with the tension relief your body experiences, is where this flower excels. It comes on quickly like a warm blanket on your mind and it melts down throughout your body. My mind stays sharp, but as other reviewers have said “don’t drive”. I can’t imagine wanting to melt before going somewhere, but shit happens and if it does take a cab.
My wife was a cannabis holdout and this is the strain that finally got her attention. It’s pure Indica effects make it perfect for newcomers. The high is a classic stone. Not a very high ceiling for me with HK and I tend to just fall asleep if I smoke a lot. The lack of a cerebral effect makes the experience more like a muscle relaxer when compared to most of the other strains I gravitate towards.
HK is a kind strain. Good to your body and mind. It’s a true staple in my stash from here on out.
