As a long time customer (as old as some of your most senior staff), I would hope that this appraisal of the Lowell Patriot Care facility will not fall on deaf ears. In my past few visits, since going recreational, I have felt an almost palpable change of mood in the building. The staff, though performing like the well-oiled machine that they are, are clearly struggling with the drastically increased workload without infrastructure to support them. The sheer volume of recreational clients is staggering and the professionalism shown each and every day by the staff is nothing short of incredible. They are working their bottoms off, and I have no doubt, are not being paid enough, nor given proper recuperation time to appropriately deal with the stresses of the increased workloads crammed into an already busy work day.
All this to say nothing of the compromises made to the medicinal patients.
Since going recreational, while there has certainly been no shortage of product made available across the board, the staff have clearly been directed to deal with the large volume of recreational clients (which the facility is not equipped to deal with in my humble opinion) before the medical patients, exemplified by the multiple days when there were fewer tellers operating on the medical side than recreational, and the three or four queues worth of rec patients to the one line for medical on the sales floor. Say good-bye to quiet and any semblance of privacy. Thanks. Yes, I understand the line is long, but that doesn’t mean I need to wait 15-20 minutes in queue, with 1 person in front of me, even with making a pick-up order on the internet beforehand. All the while, three or four tellers were turning over rec. clients by the minute, and the noise, it’s highly anxiety enducing and discomforting. I am 1,000,000% in favor of recreational access, but I would also appreciate PC doing what they actually said they would do and prioritize the medical patients over recreational.
Basically, I love the staff, they are doing the very best job they can considering the situation. They deserve better pay, time off, something VERY special for all their continued hard work and effort. I sincerely hope this reaches the right people further up the chain-o-command with the power to do right by the incredible staff that call Patriot Care Lowell home.
Respectfully,
Your Friendly Neighborhood Stoner
I've noticed as well as a few others that the weight on the flower has been less than it should. I weigh all my flower before hand and have never had an issue in the past. also most of the eighths that I purchased were mainly just one huge nug. dont get me wrong everyone loves big nugs, but it doesnt look appealing when it's all I see in the container.
This use to be my favorite dispensary. What changed? Well, for one, they lie online about THC levels in their products. They say higher levels online, but you get home with the product and it's not even close to what they listed it as. ALSO, if you pay with debit, not only do you get charged the debit fee, but now they round up the total. Im a Med patient dealing with serious health problems and all they care about is how to mislead people to get them there and to make an extra buck. Example.. my total was $176. They rounded it off to $180 then charge an ATM FEE to bring my total to $183.50. Why are they rounding off??? Who does that?!I'm a little upset about this. I feel like I can't trust this dispensary anymore. I feel I get ripped off every time I use debit. Pretty sad actually to think a company who does very well for themselves feel they need to steal from their patients. Medical patients should not have to pay anything extra. And employees don't even have an explanation of why they do what they do. SMH
They took away all the discounts Medical customers were getting without even telling us ahead of time!
They used to reimburse us for the $3.50 transaction fee charge when using a Debit Card. Discontinued March 18, 2020. No advanced notice or email.
They discontinued the Prize Wheel on June 9, 2021. No advanced notice or email.
Recycling was "temporarily" suspended on March 16, 2020. I was recently told they will not be restarting the recycling. No advanced notice or email.
I will be paying , at a minimum, $1,000.00 more a year. That's a lot of money for me.
They do not understand that the majority of medical people are low income. Sometimes we go in with the exact amount of money we need including anticipated discounts. To find out the last minute when we get there that a discount is no longer available is poor customer service.
Maine takes our medical cards and they treat us much better. Worth the ride.

I was a first-time client this week and I was impressed: the staff was friendly, competent, thorough, and professional. The strains offered for sale address a variety of issues and their probable effects were discussed by the counter staff in laymen's terms so that customers better understand their effects; not to sell more. The woman I dealt with was terrific - I'm only sorry I don't remember her name so I could give her a shoutout here. Critical Mass, Sour Kush, Lemon Thai, and Dreamweaver all have unique properties and effects and I appreciated the amount of time and energy she spent explaining what to expect from each.
Kief is also worth mentioning - I was told it's the sticky crystals atop the leaves. It has the consistency of pollen and it's sticky because it contains the highest level of THC compounds. Just as salt and spices in the right amount enhance the flavor of many foods, a little bit of kief sprinkled over the ground or crumbled flower prior to rolling or vaping takes it to the next level. Think of it as a flavor enhancer that enhances the effects and you get the idea - something that's highly recommended.
This dispensary also welcomes new customers as well as those who've visited before with discounts: there was a holiday special, a frequent-buyer offer, the expected (but disappearing elsewhere) discount for purchasing larger quantities, a new customer offer, a referring customer offer, even recycling of their plastic containers. Getting a dollar off for bringing eight little jars back might not sound like much, but it's both socially useful and more profitable than canning at a nickel a bottle.
Maybe it was the setting (country/industrial park) or the location (easy-on, easy off at the junction of routes 3 and 3A (The Lowell Connector) and Route 495, Greater Boston's outer ring road. Maybe it was because it was a beautiful day when I drove up from Boston. I'm certain a lot of it has to do with the people there, too, but the experience was far better than that in PC's Boston dispensary on Milk Street - so a word to the managers: train your Boston to work the way the folks in Lowell do and you'll have more - and more satisfied - clients.
Dispensary response:
Thank you very much, we are happy that you enjoyed your visit as well as your medicine.

I enjoy every visit. I buy the PC chocolate bars and am amazed at the consistency of affect. Always Sativa!! Just wish they could be more specific on what strain is being used.
Wish inventory of flower was more consistent - I find a strain I like and the next time i want it - its out.
Your 4/20 Day was insanely good - more discounts than I could count!!
I have since found a golden ticket :-) more discounts!! -- what are they good for again????

I first want to say that... Sour Diesel is my Original Favorite strain. since Massachusetts passed recreational I have been searching for Sour Diesel and everytime I find it at a store I buy it.
I've purchased five or six different types and the only dispensary that actually had the sour diesel that I know by smell and taste was Patriot care in Lowell. The correct name it was under was Amherst Sour Diesel produced by Liberty. I swear when I got home I couldn't put down my concentrate thank you so much hopefully I'll be able to get more soon.

Patriot Care has some impeccable budtenders. A few go above and beyond to help you find exactly what you are looking for Wich is why I have chosen not to penalize Patriot Care for a few bad apples. I have Ankylosing Spondilosis(A.S.) and Fibromyalgia. So when I visit the recreational counter...I am not just looking for CBD and THC content. Terpenes matter!!! If the few grouchy service associates get weeded out...this place will be ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ all day long. I have been to three dispenseries thus far and Patriot Care is my all around favorite. Commonwealth, Patriot Care and Siri are always a good bet on top quality bud. As far as the new vendors very recently added.....they are not coming close to the quality Patriot Care, Siri or Commonwealth growers have gotten me accustomed to.
I’ve been to all of the dispensaries in the region, plus some in Boston. Their flower is still superior. Not too dry, lots of crystals, potent smell. I’m also glad that they carry patches. Not a lot of places do.
Not a fan of the allocation of staff to the rec line, which did Result in a 40 minute wait for patients. I left because the wait was too long; I didn’t get my CBD patches. This doesn’t seem right. Granted, it was right before a holiday, but I still think patients should take priority in regards to staffed registers. If rec users leave because patient priority it taking too long, it really isn’t my concern. They don’t need it. For so patients, it is the difference between functioning and not functioning. It’s not like a pharmacy where we can just easily go to another. There still aren’t that many dispensaries around.
I’ve since learned to order ahead, but I don’t think there is a separate pickup line like there is at NETA. This would also speed the lines along.
It is my hope that these kinks have been worked out since that visit. If so, I’m happy to update my review.
No bud ready? Can’t trust leafy what? Taken a chance when I order from them and sure enough today no order ready even though I received a message it was. Why use it it then?
The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I’m a medical patient, so my review mostly applies to other medical patients,
but here’s what I think besides the staff being great:
• Parking is very convenient, as medical patients are allowed to park right in front (recreational users have to park around the block)
• very short, if any, wait times. All the times I’ve gone, I’ve been able to go right to the checkin desk and not wait in line. Most times I walk right into the store. One time (a Saturday afternoon around noon, so a busy time) I had to sit in the waiting room for about 10 minutes (not a big deal)
• The store is very clean. The waiting room is also really clean
• very organized regarding parking, security, police, lines, and from once you get inside from start to finish
I'm so so excited that they have so much variety of flower its my number one place I go to and the only place I go the staff there are awsome and parking plenty of it and the security guards are friendly and there all sweet hearts number one place to go I've been going there for 3 years and still going

i love this place because it's so close to home in methuen (although i don't mind driving down to neta and pcboston for variety!) and all the edibles and buds i have bought so far (3 - 70mg choc chip cookie, 2 - 40mg choc chip cookie, Dead Head OG - 7grams, California Dreaming - 3.5grams) have been super high quality and have successfully suppressed all severe symptoms of my immune disease that wreaks havoc on my body every single day!! (chronic pain, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, weight loss, depression, anxiety, high stress levels, weakness, confusion, muscle spasms/twitches, lack of empathy, addiction - all symptoms have been successfully treated and have almost completely disappeared while staying medicated since my temporary card came in and i visited pclowell/boston/neta!) i recommend this location to anyone in the merrimack valley because the staff is incredible, the product is great, and the spot is centrally located to everyone north of boston! also, i notice people saying that the weed is not properly cured, to that i say "you have been curing your weed the wrong way this whole time!!" leaving weed too sticky ends up making it impossible to smoke, vape, cook properly, etc and, more importantly, ends up taking away from the buyer because it weighs more when you leave it sappy; ergo, you would get much smaller 1.75's instead of the pretty decent ones here at pclowell (2 tubes is about 2 days worth for me, but i could obviously consume even more if i had an endless supply of cash lol) 12/10 - great discounts, great deals!! ✌🏽️👽🔥🍁

My favorite RMD as of past few months.
Once I heard they had a downtown location in Boston I couldn't wait to go.
This place is generous with their MBTA + Recycling program. They have the biggest nugs as opposed to those lil' popcorn/ nuggets you see elsewhere. Budtenders are very personable and well educated on Cannabis-everything. (They've all been well-trained!)
You experience a friendly vibe here. Security staff is very chill, very strong, and very serious about their job. That said -- They are all good guys.
Location: MBTA is your friend. Very close to State St + Govt Center.
Products:
- HUGE nugs. (Herijuana didn't do much for me, but Strawberry Fields + Taffie are out of this world! Deadhead OG will crush whatever stress anxiety you might have.)
- Strong shatter. (Wish they offered more of it. I'd love to see some Wax as well.
- Edibles: Underwhelmed by their edibles + prices, but this is pretty much the same across all RMDs.

There was nothing to dislike about my visit or experience , but I do have one question when you look at the leafy app it would be nice if they organized all the smoking ones in one spot ,edibles in another spot ,or a different page instead of having it all mixed up -would be easier to search ,, and a lot of what they have at the dispensary I don’t see it on leafy.

I was able to find Sativa for those late afternoon crashes for my pain. Love the deals when I go on Mondays. The staff is always courteous and helpful with any questions you might have. Selection is great I go no other place but Patriot Care.
Edwin.S.
Love the staff and products. Layout could be more conducive to spending on accessories etc… feel rushed and crowded with the display in the center of the room with people busy at counters all the way around
This place always has fire. The budtenders are awesome and they know they’re bud lol the security team is awesome as well always on point directing Med n Rec Patients seeing that your in n out. But too the stoners that go there. Be courteous and come prepared Y’all too stoned and be holding up the line babbling about life bullshit or counting pennies lol. Cop n Go people is the system.

We love everything about Patriot! I’ve been a weekly medical customer since they opened and I’ve never had an issue. Superb flower, incredible kitchen supplying edibles, and lots of herb and goodies from other local dispensaries. Love Anthony, Melissa, and everyone else that helps create such positive helpful experiences for us!
I have shopped here on multiple occasions. The staff here have always been pleasant, knowledgable, & very quick with orders, especially during the pandemic.
The one thing that I would say is that I am not always able to order off of the Leafly Medical Menu for this location. The number, unfortunately, does not go to any representatives so this information is hard to convey via phone.
Thank you for the service you continue to provide, you all are doing a great job!
