The Hog reviews
Earthy, peppery and piney with a hint of that blue cheese taste. This particular strain was a loser in the genetic lottery as far as most heads are concerned but I am not a head. I have crohn's and I am a connoisseur. At 15% THC it was not the shot in head the kids love these days but it was just right for me. Just two decades ago 15% was considered high end in the non legal, decriminalized states, like on the East Coast. For the West coast this was unacceptable even though the plant is a mega-yielder. So some people bred for higher THC. I have found HOG with THC as high as 24% and it's more intense at that level then at the 15% I am reviewing here today. 15% is enough to fix your ailments and not lock you on the couch. At 24% it couch-locked me and I fell asleep after eating. The older I get the more I realize i'm not using this plant to have fun. I am using it as medicine for what ails me so I need to be responsible with dosage and general usage. At 15% HOG is well worth the time and effort. Especially as most people will discount it due to the low score. I bought an ounce of it at 15% for $26 and it will last me a month or more. Still has the same great taste and smell, same look and same high, just less of it. And that is exactly what I was looking for when I bought it.
I suffer from spinal stenosis, after work today, smoked half of what I normally would smoke of other indicas. I loved it, nice and relaxed ,no tingle in my leg, or pain , sent me off to dream land...
Really helps my insomnia & helps me sleep when usually only ambien works for me. Very strong! Have to be careful with this one otherwise I’ll be groggy all day the next day. But if nothing works for your insomnia it is great. I can’t really describe the taste although I don’t really think it tastes really like anything I can distinguish? My senses know immediately that sleep is coming when I use this. I think the taste is a lot more mild than many other strains. This is one that never makes me cough when I do vape it, so it’s asthma friendly.
The regular vape is OK, though I’ve had the best luck with the concentrates, capsules, and the oil syringe (the best for me) because since I use it for insomnia those methods seem to last a lot longer.
My absolute favorite strain. I wish I could find it. It’s been forever since I’ve come across the hog. I remember it being earthy smelling and sweet back in 07’ when I last had this strain. I hope this classic gets grown and popular once again.
Perfect indica. Makes me relaxed and sleepy.
another new favorite 😍
This weed is so good that it convinced me to make a Leafly account and leave a review. nuff said.
For reasons that I don't really care to figure out, indica just agrees with me compared to sativa. My head has never needed any further energizing. For me, Indica is far smoother and easier on the throat and lungs. As for the Northern Hog I'm currently drawing, I am very happy to have found it. Looking forward to trying The Hog.
