I hopped on here for the first time in years to write a review about Kong because I want back for it 2 times where I could find it. Here it goes: Kong, as strong the name implies from King Kong - will completely body slam you and knock you out for a good nights sleep. This is not a strain for novice smokers who can’t handle a heavy cerebral high. As a heavy hitter leaning indica, it’ll hit you in your muscles and your head. When smoked, it has a pungent, dank, gassy taste to it because of the Skunk strain and Afghan parents in its genetic lineage. It is an absolutely stanky strain and it is amazing to smell. 10/10 strain from Holy Smoke Seeds genetics 🧬
After smoking this strain over the last few weeks I have sadly come to the conclusion that this strain is not for me. While it does seem to help my body relax and sleep a little bit better, there are negatives I can't ignore. It kills my ambition and intensifies my anxious thoughts. More often than not, when I smoke this I think about things I'm working on and this weed makes me not want to continue those projects. For example, if earlier in the day I say "I should start doing something creative like writing or composing music" this weed makes me have second thoughts. It also seems to make my anxious thoughts bubble up and take the spotlight. Whatever it is the made me slightly anxious earlier in the day will intensify with this weed. I'll give a couple examples. I've recently had bouts of insomnia and sleep anxiety. Although this strain helped me get more sleep, it has ironically made me doubt my abilities to sleep. Another example, after reading news headlines, smoking later made me start to overthink world issues that I have no control over and gave me a sense of impending doom, something I'd normally be able to gloss over. While I thought it was just me, other strains don't seem to have this effect. So I'd say this is a weed strain I won't be going back to.
