Slush Mint Cake really has a very pungent and intense terpene profile! This American Indica dominant hybrid has a powerful sweet and sour, gassy and fruity aroma with overlying notes of candy and creamy ice-cream.

Actually, all phenotypes smell incredibly strong and powerful, some have that real 'stinky & gassy' intense Cali scent profile, comparable to the intensity of a GMO-type strain for example. There are phenotypes that are a bit more reminiscent of the Ice Cream Cake genetics, here too you can easily recognise the pungent Cali-weed scent. In general, this aroma seems a bit fruitier and more like forest fruits mixed with cream. Very tasty both in the vape and in a joint!

The most dominant terpenes in this strain are limonene, linalool, caryophyllene, myrcene, humulene and pinene. What exactly are the genetics in Slush Mint Cake?

This strain was created by crossing a Slurmint mother with the well-known and award-winning Ice Cream Cake genetics.

The Slurmint mother comes from a ‘pheno-hunt’ of the Slurmint IX, which is a cross between a cup winning Slurricane and a Platinum Kush Mints. The Slurricane (also known as Purple Punch x Do-si-dos) is an incredibly potent and compact USA strain that is praised for the highest quality flowers with exceptional bag appeal.

By crossing this again with a stable Platinum Kush Mints, a very high-quality product has been developed. The Slurmint has been popular with growers and smokers in Antonio’s collective for years. By crossing her with the Ice Cream Cake genetics, a new strain has been created that is unparalleled!

Slush Mint Cake is a new USA-inspired hybrid cross to savour. The bud quality is the real reason that this strain is so highly praised. She is truly a beautiful cannabis seed to grow and the terpene-rich buds are literally bursting with trichomes. Because the flowers grow so compactly, she is easy to manicure. The dried cannabis buds have exceptional bag appeal that would not look out of place at a cannabis cup!

In terms of growth pattern, she most resembles a hybrid with a reasonable dose of Indica genes. This is most evident during the cannabis flowering phase, where you will clearly recognise her Indica background by the compactness of the buds. During the vegetative growth phase and the beginning of bloom, you will see that Slush Mint Cake can develop large leaves. These leaves usually have slightly longer stems than normal. This is a typical characteristic of this strain.

Slushie also has a somewhat stretched growth pattern. So using LST (Low Stress Training) or HST (High Stress Training) growing techniques is recommended to keep this lady under control. It is best to grow her with the SCROG method (screen of green) and support her with nets.

During the late flowering phase, the blooms become top-heavy and can sometimes collapse under their own weight. Most plants will continue to stretch for about 2 to 3 weeks following switching the light to a 12/12 cannabis light cycle in an indoor grow.

Outdoors she will also continue to stretch for a relatively longer period at the start of the flowering phase. This makes for large XL plants that will yield an average of between 0.5-1kg (1-2lbs) of dry buds. Especially when grown in a sunny and dry climate. The average flowering time is between 8 and 9 weeks.

The flowers of this strain are bright white and very sticky! If you look at the buds with a microscope you can imagine yourself in a winter wonderland! In general Slush Mint Cake has an average-to-large internode distance. This makes the buds grow more as individuals rather than merging together. The main blooms can become very full and thick, and despite their slightly smaller size, they can weigh quite a bit.

Effects of Slush Mint Cake

Slush Mint Cake is known for her extremely high total cannabinoid (THC & all other cannabinoids) profile averaging around 30-35% combined with a high terpene content averaging between 2-3%. This rare combination provides an extremely powerful effect and potent high.

Slush Mint Cake flowering time

Slush Mint Cake has an average flowering time of around 8-9 weeks. However, you can sometimes see plants that need a week longer to fully ripen, especially during an outdoor grow or a less-than-optimal indoor grow. In these cases, bloom time is closer to 9-10 weeks. So long as your indoor climate is well-controlled and the cultivation goes smoothly, most phenotypes will need between 8-9 weeks to be ready for harvest.

She can withstand colder temperatures (16-22oC, 60-70F) quite well, but this can delay the flowering time a little. For the best results, grow her in an optimised climate of around 20-25oC /68-77F. Outdoors, it is recommended to grow Slush Mint Cake only in dry, sunnier and warmer climates. She can easily tolerate outdoor temperatures of 30-35oC / 86-95F.
However, she is totally unsuitable for free, open ground cultivation in the colder and wetter northern/southern latitudes. Due to the compactness and high density of the buds, the chance of bud rot and mould is relatively high.

In these climates, she can be grown outdoors in pots or in a greenhouse with good ventilation. Outdoor growing in borderline climates using containers requires a lot of extra attention during bloom. This is because it will be necessary to repeatedly move plants indoors/under-cover during periods of bad weather.
 
When grown in a sunny and warm climate, she can grow into very large proportions with true XXL yields. And even outdoors/in a greenhouse, the quality of the buds is so high that they are hardly distinguishable from indoor-grown!
The yield of Slush Mint Cake

Slush Mint Cake has a high XL yield in a relatively short flowering time. The buds can become quite full and hard but are usually average in size. However, these buds have a very high density and because they become so compact they carry quite a bit of weight. The flowers usually have an average-to-large internode distance and therefore never grow completely closed. They grow more like individual buds on the stem.

In an indoor grow, Slush Mint Cake can provide large harvests. A yield of around 500g/m2 (15oz per square yard) is usually certainly achievable. In the hands of an expert, even more is possible and with the help of the right growing method (SCROG) you can even reach around 600-650g/m2 (18-19oz per square yard).

Outdoors, plants grown in a warm and sunny climate will yield around 1kg/2lbs per plant, especially when they have been properly pre-grown indoors before the outdoor season has started. Outdoors, it is best to SCROG her and/or provide her with support nets. Because the buds become very heavy and compact and can bend at the end!
Advice from our experts:

Slush Mint Cake is an Indica dominant hybrid cannabis seed variety that grows and blooms with great vigour. Her branches grow quickly with the characteristic long leaf stems. These longer stems let the leaves stand further outwards, away from the plant.

In a compact indoor grow you will want to remove some leaves occasionally, especially in a scrog. But in an outdoor grow this extra space ensures better ventilation and light penetration. She generally has a somewhat stretchy and 'leggy' growth profile. This should be considered when considering the layout of the grow space and the final height of the plants.

However, this stretching makes her absolutely ideal for growing with the SCROG method. With this you can also achieve the highest yields. If you can SCROG well and have managed to fill the SCROG net, you will be surprised at her harvest potential.

She is not the easiest or most predictable plant to grow. This makes her a little less suitable for beginners but more for experienced expert growers who know how to slow down and manipulate plants when desired. During the late flowering phase, always provide a dry climate of around 40-50% RH with sufficient ventilation. This is necessary since the buds can become genuinely rock-hard.

We also recommend not to squeeze the buds too often during the flowering phase, because once you have smelled that delicious scent profile you will not be able to keep your hands (and nose) off the buds!

SnowBud is our second “High Altitude” variety. SnowBud is a hybrid of Afghani and South African genetics. As with Pamir Gold the selection work is done in the Swiss Alpes. SnowBud (60% Sat./ 40% Ind.) has a spicy (cinnamon), skunky smell and taste, smokes very smooth and has a medium “up high”. Healthy plants may reach 1.8 till 2.2 meters outdoors. Mold and mildew resistant. Yield: above average. Does also well indoors.The name SnowBud refers to the huge amount of white pistils in the female flowers (buds).

StarRyder® is the product of a very successful project between Dutch Passion and the Joint Doctor. The collaboration took a few years to create this outstanding autoflower variety. An exceptional Dutch Passion Isis clone, a premium sativa with a first class “high”, was carefully hybridised by Joint Doctor with one of his best indica dominant automatics. The result is a very potent autoflower variety. The first part of the name refers to the outstanding quality and performance, a real Star. The second part of the name refers to the Joint Doctor, the autoflowering pioneer and producer of the original LowRyder.

StarRyder® grows like a compact Christmas tree, producing large resinous buds, growing to around 50cm tall and yielding 45 to 100 grams to the average grower. Experienced autoflower growers can yield over 100 grams per plant growing in soil or coco. Yields of over 200 grams per plant are possible with hydro methods such as DWC (Deep Water Culture) in the hands of the very best growers who will be able to grow plants around 1m tall. The THC content is around 15 to 19% which is special for an autoflower variety. The “high” is described as powerful and fast hitting. The taste is smooth and sweet.

StarRyder® is the product of a very successful project between Dutch Passion and the Joint Doctor.

The “Strawberry Cough” genetics are of North American origin and partly uniquely European. “Strawberry Cough” is a hybrid between an Indica and a Sativa. From this hybrid we made a selection having about 80% Sativa influences. We have used this selection for the production of our “Strawberry Cough” Seeds. Our “Production and Research Team” has succeeded in creating the fruitiest variety imaginable. The fresh strawberry taste and aroma are very evident and wonderful to experience. Strawberry has an “up high” effect of medium THC-strength. The plants are beautiful to look at. The total flowering time takes about 9 weeks. The first and most powerful growth spurt of flowers ends in week four, the second at week 9. “Strawberry Cough” is easy to grow and does not need a strong fertilizing scheme. The “Strawberry Cough” genetics are of North American origin and partly uniquely European.

If you’re a fan of strong old-school Skunk varieties with bumper harvests then this is a perfect choice. The Edge is a sativa dominant (75% sativa, 25% indica) variety that delivers heavy harvests of top quality cannabis with a strong Shiva aroma which will remind you of the good old days. THC levels of 17% are typical, this is a powerful variety. The Edge has a Skunk-appearance, but with slightly more stretch.

The longer inter-nodal distance and multi-branching allows for extra large harvests. This variety prefers extra nutrients during vegetative growth and requires 8-9 weeks for flowering indoors, typically reaching up to 1m tall and yielding up to 500g/m². The Edge will also perform outdoors in mild climates and will finish as early as mid/late September.

The Edge delivers a powerful and uplifting high which transitions into a strong stone. This is a robust variety which performs well even for less experienced growers and will tolerate conditions which are not always ideal. Whichever way you grow The Edge you should get a heavy crop of quality pot.

Careful breeding has created one of our most important strains, we call it “The Ultimate” as it combines some of the heaviest yields we have ever seen with genuine connoisseur quality. She grows to a height of around 1m, ideal for the indoor grow room. Flowering time is 8-11 weeks, with explosive bud growth in the last 2 weeks. The Ultimate is Sativa dominant and will take plenty of nutrients during the growth cycle, she is resistant to mold and bud-rot making it a good greenhouse choice too. The Ultimate is very suited for taking cuttings.

Think Big® is a high performance autoflower based on the legendary Think Different genetics. Think Big® was created after a small number of special XXL Think Different plants were selected from hundreds of plants grown from seed and used as the genetic basis for Think Big®. Think Big® is a medium hight autoflower, producing chunky XXL yielding plants, taking a couple of weeks longer to finish than most autos.

The two to three extra weeks that Think Big® needs to finish are responsible for the amazing yields she offers when treated with love. Resin coverage is often sensational, the cannabis is strong and mind numbing with a soaring sativa high. The taste has hints of citrus, lemon and incense. Even first time growers have achieved over 100g/plant and experienced growers can achieve 200g-300g+. She can grow over 1m tall in experienced hands and is a good alternative to traditional varieties, offering bumper harvests of strong cannabis just 10-11 weeks after seed germination. The genetics come from a special AK47 hybrid known as AK420.

Indoors she has the potential to yield up to 500g/m² especially in ‘scrog’ systems with powerful lights. She joined our list of best sellers just one year after she was released and has created a following of autoflower growers who refuse to grow anything else. Dutch Passion are proud to present the non-autoflowering version of the legendary Think Different. Think Fast® was created by crossing Think Different AutoFem with a specially selected cutting of the Dutch Passion classic Power Plant® in the search of new AutoFem genetics. The first generation offspring, which is normally used for further breeding, was let flowering and gave surprisingly good results. When crossing an autoflowering variety with a traditional photoperiod variety, none of this offspring will be autoflowering. The Dutch Passion geneticists discovered that these non autoflowering plants, which carry the recessive autoflowering gene are significantly faster than their photoperiod parents.

Think Fast® still needs a 12/12 light system to start flowering, but grows bigger and taller in a faster way. With this feature it becomes possible to grow big, potent, photoperiod strains with almost the speed of an autoflower. Think Fast® can be grown outdoors and indoors and will reach the height of a photoperiod strain, but will be ready to harvest a few weeks earlier. Think Fast® inherited the overwhelming big yields from our classic strain Power Plant and is almost as fast and easy to grow as the legend Think Different.

Dutch Passion are proud to present the non-autoflowering version of the legendary Think Different.

Ultra Skunk is the product of our 1999 Skunk project. We bred, and then cross bred the best Skunk strains from proven Dutch and Swiss genetics. Our leading Skunk specialist selected a variety that combined the thickest buds whilst retaining the best skunk qualities and potency.

The genetics have a hint of a leading Indica strain, this gives some leaves in the buds but also adds strength and consistently heavy yields to this top Skunk variety. The genetics are 40% Indica / 60% Sativa, the result is one of the best Skunk strains ever created and is extremely consistent.

It grows to a height of 60-80cm indoors with a flowering time is 8-9 weeks with good mould and spider mite resistance. Ultra Skunk is stocky and oily, bursting with crystals and heavy buds. The taste is sweet and fruity skunk with a hint of cedar. The high is classic Skunk – long lasting, stoned and ‘up’ high. Very high!

White Gushers #33 is a unique take from breeder Antonio on the White Gushers / White Gusherz genetics, also known as TK41. Instead of just crossing a Triangle Kush with Gelato #41, this limited edition has an even more special genetic line.

It is a cross between the Triangle Sherbet Kush (part of the 2024 limited drop as a free seed) with a Gelato #33 instead of the Gelato #41. The Gelato #33 is a favourite of Antonio. It’s also part of the well-known Ice Cream Cake line that enjoys worldwide fame and is one of the most sought after and sold genetics from the past 5 years.

Like the original, this White Gushers #33 is an Indica dominant hybrid cannabis strain with potent, sticky buds and great bag appeal. With an average THC percentage between 20-25% this is definitely not a strain for the novice smoker, caution is recommended! The fresh and sour aroma is usually a mix of fruity and gassy notes.

The taste is usually also sour with a gassy note. Some phenotypes also taste slightly like creamy ice cream, but almost always with an earthy and 'gassy' overtone.

The high of this USA cannabis strain is powerful yet relaxing. It is a nice strain to relax with and to hang out on the couch in the evening. On average, the flowering time is around 65 days (~9 weeks) but some phenotypes can be a little faster or slower, depending on whether the Gelato or the Triangle Sherbet Kush is dominant.

White Widow is a classic, a winner of countless awards with a reputation as one of the most powerful strains ever created.

This superb and long-awaited cross of two of our most respected varieties delivers great yields of very strong, highly resinous, buds.  We offer this variety only in regular seeds; she will be popular with new growers, old-school connoisseurs and home-breeders looking for a reliably potent variety which is easy and robust to grow.  For many years we have had repeat requests for a White Widow cross, she is one of the original iconic breeds and the strongest indica-dominant in our collection.  The Ultimate is perhaps our heaviest yielder, but also very powerful.  A male White Widow and female ‘Ultimate’ were put together to produce this mixed indica/sativa. The high is strong and intense yet allows you to remain active.  The plants are very oily with a noticeable Haze taste together with earthy/citrus flavours which are twisted together with pine.  She grows up to 1.5m tall with very good yields and does well in all mediums with the best results in DWC (deep water culture).  Plants can be harvested as early as 8 weeks but some will prefer to wait 10 weeks for full bud production and ripeness.
