Sabinene

Sabinene is a terpene with a peppery and citrus aroma produced by cannabis plants and numerous other flora, including Norway spruce, Holm oak trees, black pepper, cardamom, and carrot seeds. Sabinene only appears in small amounts in some cannabis strains and has shown promise for anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial benefits.

“The sabinene in this haze makes it so spicy.”

“I use the sabinine in tea tree oil in my air diffuser for relaxation.”

What is sabinene?

Sabinene is a monoterpene with a spicy, citrusy, and piney flavor and aroma profile that manifests in cannabis, although only in small amounts. Sabinene is more prominent in forest trees such as spruces and oaks, and plants such as juniper, cloves, and nutmeg.

How to use sabinene?

Haze cannabis strains have some of the highest concentrations of sabinene. Sabinene in higher concentrations lends itself to woody, citrusy, and even minty strains like Super Silver Haze, but there isn’t enough research to make definitive statements about its effects in cannabis.

Sabinene has also shown antioxidant properties, and in essential oils of juniper, it has shown antimicrobial properties
