“Leave a place better than we found it.” As sisters, we were raised to practice this principle every day. For us, it’s more than an ideal, it’s a way of life in our family.

We witnessed first-hand as our mother, Dr. Diane Solomon, a physician and scientist, challenged accepted standards for women’s healthcare. Diane’s pioneering clinical research established the modern medical guidelines for the early detection and prevention of cervical cancer. Her work made a huge impact on the lives of women that continues to this day.

In 2016, we saw our opportunity to challenge the status quo and push forward the emerging field of medical cannabis. Together, we built a brand based upon scientific evidence that cannabinoids can help people limited by ailments and discomfort to take back control of their lives. The result is a diverse range of reliable cannabis products for those seeking serious relief.

Inspired by our mother, we hope to make a lasting impact with every product we create. With this mission in mind, we could think of only one name: Doctor Solomon’s.

Our story began with “special cookies” to help ease Grandma Noni’s pain. When she told us they tasted as good as they made her feel, it was all we needed to hear. Back in the day, consuming edibles could be compared to spinning the roulette wheel. Edible consumption meant risk, because effect and dose were a mystery. Our founders, Josh Fink, Derek Cumings, Rick Scarpello, and Bob Eschino, helped change that. By demarcating mg servings using a unique chocolate mold that made it easy to understand how much they were ingesting, incredibles became dose transparency pioneers, helping to establish the standard seen today.

The founder and CEO of Bluebird Botanicals, Brandon J. Beatty, is a co-founder and served as treasurer of the Industrial Hemp Research Foundation, a Colorado-based 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to initiating, supporting, and overseeing hemp related research at state universities. Bluebird’s COO, Kevin Liebrock, currently serves the foundation as a director.

We are members of the ASTM International D37 Committee on Cannabis and several of its subcommittees, whose roots date back to the late 1800’s.

We are on the Advisory Boards of Aims Community College‘s new Hemp Program and the Realm of Caring, a 501(c)(3) non-profit focused on providing education and services related to the use of cannabinoids.

Bluebird is also a member of the Hemp Industries Association (HIA), a nationwide hemp trade association that’s been functioning for over 20 years. Similarly, we’re also supporters of the local chapter, the COHIA.
