Mac 1

7/6/2021
This stuff knocks me out. HARD. Although, I bought a big batch that had been pollinated from a grower friend (now I have the "exclusive" MAC seeds and thousands of them, mwahahahahaha). I remember reading on some weed forum back in the early 2000s that seeded weed wasn't as potent or hit different. Apparently that's not true and the potency should be the same, just seeds suck to smoke and need to be picked out. I miss Sativas. I really really really miss Sativas. Where did they go? They just went extinct because the masses only bought hybrids and indicas because they're more narcotic. I can't even find one of my favorite strains, Durban Poison, anymore. And that's especially sad because it was like the last unmodified land race sold commercially, not to mention basically the last wild Sativa. But there are tons of artists and creative types like myself that love the energy creativity and even the manic paranoia (it leads to inspiration) that Sativas can induce. So I'm stuck buying these Hybrids that all the reviews say are "energizing" and "uplifting" and all of them have just put me straight to sleep. No other strain, hybrid, indica, or whatever, has made me fall asleep faster than MAC 1. And it is sooooo narcotic. The euphoria is almost orgasmic at times.

Sour Tsunami

1/28/2016
Am I the only one who disagrees that CBD is non-psychoactive and non-euphoric. A while back I tried Sour Tsunami (ST), which is supposed to have very high amounts of CBD and very low, almost non-existent amounts of THC. The despenserie I purchased it from claimed their particular phenotype to have only 1% THC and 17% CBD. To me, there most definitely was a psychoactive and euphoric high. I typically go for sativas and high-THC hybrids and am well familiar with the kinds of highs they can produce. ST provided me with a definite shift in consciousness and physical sensation, completely unlike what I normally would expect from cannabis. The high was no where near as pronounced as normal; definitely subtle, but totally there. The closest analogue I can think of is a low-potency opiod like hydrocodone. I felt drowsy but not sleepy, my limbs feeling floaty and free from gravity, yet my head felt heavy and hard to hold up. I have GAD and had absolutely no anxiety, a distinct calming effect present in my consciousness and subconscioussness. I had a tendency to nod in and out of half-sleep states; this is very common with opiates -- "the nod". I was couch-locked and had no desire to move or be productive (a big negative for me). I have compared to opiods, but I should note that it was far less potent, just definitely noticeable. The couchlock was just as severe, though. Let's not forget the munchies. Definitely a psychoactive effect. It was stronger with this strain than any strain tried before or after. I know my experience is non-scientific, and without testing the chemical contents of the bud myself, I can not say for certain what percentages of cannabinoids it had, but given that CBD -- a compound more potent by weight than THC -- counteracts THC and this strain is supposed to have more THC than CDB, I am fairly certain the effects I noticed were of CBD. I would also point out that my lack of anxiety itself might have seemed to be a high to me, since anxiety is such a constant in my life, but it was definitely different from "sober" so I count that as a high. I'm just one person, but I'd love to know if there are others with similar experiences.

Chem 91

Smells sour, like skunk. The high hits on an uplifting note and finishes on a drowsy one. Good evening strain, giving enough energy to enjoy the night before nodding off to sleep. Effects were almost psychedelic at peak and very very dissociative. It was easy for to focus on one thing, but be impervious to any distractions, including more important ones. Fun for when your responsibilities are nil. Time felt slow Was not creative enough for me to work, but it was a lot of fun playing GTA Online. Chilled out and relaxed, but I can still drive like a champ in-game, so not too much actual slowing of my reflexes. Though it felt disconnected as time moved slowly (perhaps my reflexes were even hightened).

Durban Poison

This is the strain for those that purely enjoy the act of smoking above all else, yet it doesn't compromise on it's high, providing an uplifting, almost spiritual experience. This is a strain best for joints. Visually the buds are very dense, with tiny, dusty flowers with pale orange stamens packed closely together, appearing as one thick mass of plant from afar. The tricchromes are closer to a dark suede than white and appear wet and less crystalline than some other strains. The smell is sweet -- sweeter than any strain I have tried before, with an overtone of pine and warm earthy undertone. Though the smell is beautiful, this strain is not particularly stinky, like kush or purps, lending a nice pleasantness to itself. The taste exceeds the excellent aroma, having the flavors of Meyer lemon pie and bittersweet chocolate (which is well-accentuated by tobacco if one cuts their joints this way). The chocolate flavors are tasted on the inhale and the sweet, non-bitter lemon flavors come through on the exhale and stick around for a dozen seconds or so. The best tasting bud there is. The high is felt almost immediately when smoked, but takes a while to peak -- slow and steady, building up smoothly never seeming to be too much no matter how much you smoke, which, if you enjoy the act of smoking cannabis, is a good thing. It is stimulating, but not uncomfortable with little to no anxiety. There is a pleasant floatiness in the body and the mind, thoughts drifting to a metaphysical, even religious nature. This is a great strain for a few very close friends who love to chew the fat on the bigger things in life. Overall, this strain is one of my top 5 favorites, perhaps even my favorite. It is a wild cannabis strain, meaning that is has not been cross-bed (though probably selectively bred) and has an "ancient" lineage. It is a wonder the high is so pleasant compared to sativa hybrids. I highly recommend that anyone in need of a sativa dominant strain dry this one.

Willy's Wonder

4/5/2013
The wonder of Willy's Wonder is how it combines all the positive effects available in a huge variety of strains. It gives a sativa headspace and energy with intense, almost narcotic and opiate-like euphoria and couch-lock of a potent indica. There are the CEVs of a good kush, and the dissociation and giggles of outdoor mids. This doesn't mean it's a good strain for the daytime, though. Because the indica effects are so intense, you might be out of commission for a couple of hours. It's a good evening smoke for the daydreamer. If you love to spend your free time sitting on a porch and contemplating life, you will enjoy this. Be careful with the dose; this stuff is potent. Always take less than you think you will need. The come-up is quick, so if you take it easy, you should be able to tell when you've had enough, but if you've taken even one small hit too much, everyone will know, you will have trouble walking, talking, and shouldn't drive. Start with one hit.

Blue Dream

Still the perfect strain for me. Gives the good indicator feelings with the energy and motivation of a sativa. I am actually encouraged to be productive with this strain. Beware the munchies on the come-down though. I now know what it feels like to have not eaten for several days; most intense munchies I've ever felt. It can be debilitating. Make sure your stomach is full before smoking.

Blue Dream

The nugs were moderately dense and sticky with crystals. The smell was mild and pleasant, not skunky at all. The hight hits immediately in the forehead then seems to bother my toes. It's a little uncomfortable, but doesn't last long. Then I feel very relaxed and y Mind starts to wander for a good 10-15 minutes before I'm hit with euphoria, followed by energy and motivation for the next 2-3 hours, getting things done that I had been putting off. This is the perfect strain for me. Greatly calms my anxiety while still allowing me to be productive and motivated. This is mostly and indica high, but there is not couch like and the mid wanders but doesn't slow down. Great for creative types who need some help coming up with crazy ideas. Lasts a good long while.

Green Crack

This is a great motivational Sativa strain. Not much to say on the specifics other than it almost provides amphetamine-like energy and focus. It builds up a tolerance very quickly, as I have noticed with most sativas and can cause a hangover if one falls asleep high.

OG Kush

I can't smoke this strain anymore, it hits me too hard. I love it, but my high school days are over and I have to be responsible. Every time I smoke it i get glued to my seat for over an hour,. Absolutely completely psychedelic and euphoric. If I close my eyes I get rushing CEVs similar in strength to magic mushrooms and an intense feeling of being on a roller coaster. I giggle and laugh uncontrollably once the rushing wears off. The world turns into funny colors. First time I ever smoked it I thought it was laced as I took 3 hits (should have taken 1) and couldn't move even my fingers for 3 hours. Hits hard and lasts a hell of a long time. A great strain for sundays and for relaxing after long, stressful days.

Sour Diesel

To be perfectly honest, it is hard for me to "feel" this strain. I was really only able to notice the effects objectively in the third person. It melts my generalized anxiety disorder away without me ever really realizing it. Particularly effective for social anxiety. I become extremely talkative and energetic for about 45 min then slightly tired for the next hour or so. I feel happy through it all, but it's a mild, content happiness and not an artificial giggliness. This makes it the most like pharmiceutical medicine of any strain I've tried. There is a visual effect. Things become softer and a little brighter, but I only notice it when looking at the same things after it's worn off and mentally compare what it looked like 2 hours prior. Not much of a body high. Makes me talkative, energetic, horny, then sleepy. Majorly dry eyes as it starts to come down. Everyone can tell I've smoked by my eyes being so red and droopy. If I smoke too much in a day, it can actually intensify my anxiety and make me withdrawn by evening. Doesn't provide the creativity I want when I have artist's block.
