One Strain Five Ways: Sour Diesel

November 9, 2017
Sour Diesel is the most popular sativa-dominant cannabis strain on Leafly. An invigorating strain named after its pungent, diesel-like aroma, Sour D is believed to have descended from Chemdawg 91 and Super Skunk. It acts fast and delivers energizing, dreamy cerebral effects that have pushed the strain to reach its legendary status. Since taking root in the early 90s, it has proliferated widely and today is found on the market in perhaps more forms than any other single sativa strain out there.

In 1S5W, we meet five iterations of Sour Diesel in each of the five largest US adult-use (or soon to be adult-use) markets: California, Washington, Colorado, Oregon, and Nevada. Pre-roll packs, oil cartridges, dabbable concentrates, terpenes, edibles, whole-plant extracts, tinctures, clones, classic flower, related strains, and even apparel are all available in iterations of and variations on the Sour Diesel theme. Want to find your new favorite take on Sour D? Check out our strain spotlight below to learn more about the strain, then click through the region-specific links to find out what’s available in your region. From there, hit your favorite dispensary to hunt down one, some, or all five of the products listed.

          Just Legalize It

    • Nick Simonds

The colder the environment and the harder the water, the more thc yield will show. Just saying. I’ve noticed that every state North of the equator, the higher the THC yield

I moved from NC to Long Island. It wasn’t an improvement, cannabinoid-wise.

Need Leafly to publish an article about how the Legalization outlook has improved since the Blue Bounceback last Election Day. Was Attorney General “Reefer Madness” Sessions voted out?

Wishing us next year in beauteous Colorado.

I am not a fan of sour D. As a Vancouver island enthusiast from a very early age, I have had a chance to test several hundred types of Cannabis over the last 40 some years.
My current favorite is the new dawg as Vancouver Island Pinkum is a huge plant, with huge yields and a very heavy punch. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/acc9c1454c41ba8d17708d68ffb1fcb3a1934ad6471c5ec7b3b66db205c6f379.jpg

Is VIP the the food for SD, or the strain you recommend?
Wishing I had this grower’s green thumb!
      Thanks for any info

We are increasing the yields and the quality using natural minerals from Vancouver Island Ormus!
    The results are awesome! https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/780bedcb2354f756996fb8d5b3327a5da83bf766e12f1c529050c3f98849c271.jpg

Aren’t we getting a bit overboard with all the strains. I rather see some stable solid pure strain with constant experience. Just ab thought.
